I generally put a wrench and tighten each fitting on the cylinder before each use. I've never had any leaks have c likely overloaded it a few times lifting my truck...(always added Jack stands under the axels when lifting the truck.
woulda loved to get a 4 post lift but garage limitations and desire to use outside on occasion prevented that possibility
I had a minor incident during my last use of my QuickJack. When lifting my DB9, one of the ramps stopped rising and fluid began to leak at the hose attachment to the power unit. I quickly lowered the car, and when I disconnected the leaking hose I saw a broken rubber o-ring sticking out from the female quick-connector on the hose.
When I emailed QuickJack, they said that the o-ring can sometimes dry out and break when the QuickJack is used infrequently (I use mine about 4-5 times a year).
My unit is out of warranty and the cost for a replacement quick connect kit is $79.
Despite that, I don't know of a better alternative.

Is the oring a part of the quick connector or the cylinder?
Can't you just replace the o-ring? Auto parts store or hardware store.
Unfortunately, no. The o-ring is internal to the connector, which cannot be opened. However, I found an alternative supplier on Amazon and got it for $34.95!

I also fabbed up some wood pucks out of high density fine grain scraps I had laying around and shamelessy stole ideas from HMS_Precisions outstanding units. The notches are needed to clearance removeal of the rear skid plate. The rubber plugs are from the local hardware store trimmed to fit the alignment holes. The screws hold them in place and also adjust the diameter for a snug fit to keep them in position while aligning the jacks.

Had mine for about 5yrs. The quick connects began leaking recently. ZUMAN could you please provide the Amazon link for the quick disconnects. I'd but through Costco. Customer service is much better than quickjack directly. Still I'm very satisfied I've done service to several of my cars with it. Matt's pucks are indispensable.
According to my Amazon order history, I bought the 1/4" thread fitting. It's been a couple of years, though. There's a diagram on Amazon's product page with dimensions on it, so you could measure your existing part and see how it matches up. Good luck!
