To buy or not to buy a manufacturer buyback/lemon
a friend (really, it wasn't me) bought a buy back AMG wagon a couple of years ago. paid about 60% of the market value... he heavily modified it to about 750-800 hp...
car runs great, suspected there was a simple issue but never found out real reason
I think if you were going to mod and run car hard, it may make sense... many times exotic owners are real picky and some manufacturers lemon out cars for lots of reasons...
I lemoned out a brand new Mercedes after it had been in the shop over 90 days for lots of reasons... Mercedes gave me a new SUV and the regional MB VP I worked with said MB was taking the SUV back to tear it down and find out the issues

Absolutely not! Aston 'replaced' a Timeless Certified V12S - the dealer put it back up for sale - the next two years (of the warranty) to the next owner it spent 11 months in repairs
It depends why it was returned or bought back. My local dealer mentioned there were a few DB11's that were returned due to squeaky brakes or an electrical fault that was fixed.
Neither sounds like a deterrent to avoid those examples of the manufacturer has remedied the issue and still under warranty.

I will say, based on valuation, any car fax issue is like leprosy for exotics... you need to factor valuation in, get thorough inspection and try to find out cause... in the latter usually go back to manufacturer, not dealer
My 2005 DB9 was a buy back/lemon in 2007. It was a Newport Beach, CA car. The original owner had transmission issues. AM bought it back, put a new tranny in it and CA branded the title "Lemon/Buy Back". The second owner bought it and owned it in SoCal for 11 years. The car came up for sale in 2018. I was in the market for a 2005-2007 DB9 so I watched it. A few months later, and a couple of failed offers, my curiosity got the best of me and I contacted the owner. He told me the story and had all service records. I had Raging Bull do a thorough PPI and it came back "the car is perfect. It needs to be driven". It had 9,8xx miles on it. I negotiated the deal, put new tires on (it had 2005 tires) and shipped it to North Carolina. The car looked brand new. It has always been garaged. I finally got 2 small road-rash chips on the right door last fall on a 700+ mile road trip through the western NC mountains. There are a couple of marks on the clear front bra. That's it. The interior still looks new. She gets a lot of love and 4500+/- miles/year now. My NC title is branded "Lemon".
I bought it to drive it and keep it. It was a good buy for me. I service the car myself (thank you 6speed, aston1936 & Redpants) and would get in it tomorrow and drive anywhere.
