Hey guys,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and my 2013 V8V. I finally decided to pull the trigger on an Aston Martin as this was my dream car since I was little.

After multiple disappointing shopping experiences (more on that below), I gave up for a while. Then after three more disappointing attempts this year, I found the perfect one for me. 7 years in the making.

The last three attempts this year were surreal experiences. All three were sold out from underneath me while I was in the middle of talking with the salesperson or on the way to inspect the car. Finally, I took a huge risk and bought one sight unseen and man did I get lucky.

I ended up getting an immaculate 2013 Aston Martin Vantage from a Lamborghini Dealership.
No scratch, rock chips, dings on the exterior, and no wear and tear on the interior.
1 Owner
6-speed manual
Perfect yearly maintenance history from Aston Martin.
13,900 miles
The dealer put new rotors, pads, and tires and completed this years service.

The original owner ended up trading his vantage for an SVJ63!!!!!! (Deep Pockets)

I was shocked to see how difficult it was to find 1) a manual (who knew these were that rare) 2) low ownership 3) perfect maintenance records 4) prices were going up during a pandemic???? (doesn't make sense)

Anyways, I do look forward to meeting other car enthusiasts and fellow Aston Owners in the near future. I hope to contribute a lot to this forum starting with a consolidated checklist of what to look for when buying an Aston and also 7 years of collecting data on depreciation Astons in case anyone is looking to buy. Both of these helped me pick out the perfect car and negotiate a fair and reasonable price.

Thanks! Really appreciate it. I actually bought the wall art when I first moved into my house years ago. The flag came shortly after, after I thought I had secured a deal. Defintely, multiple failed attempts.

Congratulations. I know the struggles and excitement of finding the right car. I spent 3 years looking for a 2009+ manual DB9 and almost bought a one owner car with full service history from a reputable dealer to only find that it was accident damaged in a PPI. The first time they gave back the non-refundable deposit apparently! Eventual found my car. But it took a while

Thanks! Wow...just wow. Glad the PPI saved you. The DB9 is a beautiful car...actually they all are. The Aston really doesn't have any bad angles. Also, they have a very timeless look.

Thank you! He did upgrade the sound system and installed a full integrated radar detector system in the vehicle. Honestly, I agree with you as I really dont listen to music too often while driving. I've heard that fuse 22 is the way to go. However, I believe that fuse 15 is for the MY12.25 and later? Ill have to experiement.

Looks familiar. Nice choice.

Those are tweeter pods on the dash? Haven't seen that before.

Thanks! Yea, the previous owner had upgraded the sound system. I've seen some install Bang & Olufsen systems where the tweeter retracts into the dash. These just sticks out. Wouldnt have been my first choice, but the sound quality is amazing.

It looks like your arduous journey into ownership finally paid off Andrew.

Eventually you found the one that was meant for you.

It did! It was a long journey for sure. Good luck with yours, and hopefully the material I put out makes your process a bit easier. Best of luck!
