2011 Vantage Sportshift
2011 Vantage Sportshift
I am experiencing poor 3rd to 2nd down shifts. They are very abrupt especially when coming to a stop when I allow the trans to shift down on its own. Sometimes I’m able to alleviate this manually with blipped throttle at higher revs. Does this sound like an adjustment issue? Thx
Welcome to an AM sportshift. Some shift nice others can be clunky. When it stops shifting is when you worry. Your at the mercy of a computer. Have it checked for clutch life and or codes to start a process of investigating if its actually a fault.
The Sportshift was never intended to us D... instead manually shift lifting off of the gas between shifts as you would be with a foot clutch - very involving without having a heavy clutch pedal. I manually upshift and let the car downshift automatically. I never press D. There is a manual (maybe downloadable on this site?) from Aston Martin that explains proper use of the Sportshift.

I've had 6 Vantages - getting my 7th delivered tomorrow or Friday (Bought the 2011, 23K mile blue Vantage from CT Jaguar dealer). 5 of the Vantages were Sportshift - I don't recall a shudder. I was lucky - never had to replace a clutch.
