I have the sportshift..and I like it well enough..I do find it a little hard shifting when cold..but once it warms up its just fine..would I like a manual..yes..I guess..but it wasn’t a deal breaker..if I could change anything..I’d have looked for a v12..lol
Sport shift transmission is an odd duck some are fantastic and work well. Key points being 1) good clutch 2) clean ASM fluid and proper bleeding procedure. 3)brake switch adjustment or updated switch installed. 4) transmission adaptation learn with dealer computer.

It does indeed miss one of the slats on the grille. But pretty sure it is possible to buy a replacement for that.
New clutch on the 08 but not on the 11. Both have every service done and are well taken care of.
do you know why it’s missing a slat? It seems like a red flag it was in a front end accident. Although I am just speculating. Something like that may not show up on a CARFAX.
The plastic is press fit onto the blades and seem to be easily knocked out of place. And used ones are impossible to find in good shape for a reasonable price. I have a few plastic bits somewhere, but probably not the center one.
I have had a 2008 an absolutely beautiful car green with a tan interior and a manual. Also a black 2009 with a Sportshift, didn’t care for the Sportshift. Now have a 2016 GTS with a manual.I had the 2008 modified and it made plenty of power and was a joy to drive. The GTS is about as perfect as a V8Vantage can get. I would suggest that you look very closely and do an extended drive for both of the cars you are considering.

Gene, I saw your former Aston, the green one, at the recent Caffeine and Octane in Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago. Talked to the current owner for a bit and listened to it as he drove off. A nice looking car and great exhaust note.
Thanks for the picture. I sold it to my youngest son’s friend to make room for another car. I knew that V would take good care of it. It really is a nice car. It does sound good. It has Harrison 200 cel cats, an X pipe, and a Quicksilver exhaust. It also has the power pack and was dyno tuned by Eurocharge in Orlando. The color and the interior really look good together, and the BC Forged wheels fit just perfect. In hindsight I should have never sold it.
Allright, I will probably go with the 2011 model. A majority here seems to think its the better pick and i pretty much agree.
However, one question. Do you think it will hold its value better? Or will it continue to drop where the 2008 will stay the same?
Impossible to say for sure obviously but you people have a lot more experience in this than I do

If you playing the depreciation speculator, don't buy a Vantage. They'll both appreciate if you hold on to them long enough.
