AM spec M177 & ZF 8HP75?

I'm trying to figure out where the performance sweet spots are on these newer gen vantages?

M177 mods seem well known in the Mercedes world. Are there differences in the AM vs Merc variant? If I understand correctly AM used the same engine Merc puts in the C63's? Seems internals are capable of a reliable 650whp with turbo upgrade, downpipes, tune and maybe some fuel mods?

8HP75 - Stock rating at around 550ft-lb of tq? I've seen a few easy bolt on mods for cooling etc. Is it safe to assume transmission tunes with the typical bump in holding pressure push that closer to 600? At what point are performance hardware rebuilds necessary? Did AM make any in house changes to these transmissions?

I realize the resale value on these cars are terrible but this new Merc driveline appears to be very proven/capable? Certainly a far sportier chassis than what Merc is offering IMO.

Cheers

Sell it and buy a v12 Aston. You’ll have something worth keeping instead of wasting money on an pseudo AMG/AM. They will never be worth much due to the powerplant change.

i know AM built their own tuning profile vs. using AMG's. You have to pull up M177 on a foxwell to see the engine... . I wouldn't spend money on this exhaust... get the 4 pipe model.. Sport+ and track mode have great downshifting. If you need more exhaust noise than track mode.. its a fast and nimble car...

number 1 question I get: what type of Aston is that?
