Why is the Aston forum so damn active
Something I've noticed over the past years. The Aston forum seems to be very active compared to others such as say the Maserati boards. Do the Maserati guys have some other place they prefer to discuss topics, or just lack of interest? Is the Aston community just that much better? I like to think so, but I may be a bit biased.
I have not been on the Maserati forums, but compared to the other car forums I frequent, this forum is actually the least active. I think having it on an antiquated platform, over moderation and often little love for the newer models may be some of the reasons. The Aston Martin V8/V12 Vantage Owners Group on Facebook is more active if your looking for another online community.
I'm not on Facebook.
This forums seems to active based on the boutique nature of exotics and limited number of Aston owners and enthusiasts...
I also frequent pistonheads on occasionn mainly for technical info.

I like to do both..it’s the only thing I do on Facebook..my Aston and Porsche forums..that’s it..
Trending Topics
I also frequent all the FB groups for my various interests, but little else. This forum and PH are on the slower side in my experience. My view is that the majority of users have early to last-gen Gaydon cars and are now the 2,3,4th owners. There's only so many times the same handful of issues can be discussed. IMHO, traffic will pick up as more of the 2018+ cars start to find their 2nd and 3rd owners and a new litany of issues need sorting.
I closed all free accounts (gmail, etc) and social media a couple of years ago. Only a few car forums and the like; that's it.

If you don't know the product, you are the product! Completely agree with the high cost.
I think that Aston Martin ownership is defined by good taste, competency, and self-confidence. It means that you appreciate what heritage, design, engineering, craftsmanship, and performance can bring to your life, but you aren't so fragile that you are defined by an automobile you own...the car doesn't own you. I find that I can typically find what I want here in the 6speedonline Aston Martin community, or at PistonHeads, or at AMOC. The people I meet on those forums tend to be like the cars...amart, pleasant to hang out with, and not too much in-your-face or trolling for attention.
Amoc?
Hello Everyone
this forum has been so helpful in getting my 2008 V8V Roadster mechanically sorted over this last year a don't do Facebook as I don't trust social media and value my privacy. However I am thinking of joining AMOC as I'd like to participate in events. I'm in Southern California, is AMOC pretty active in this neck of the woods? Is it worth joining?
Thank you for input
