Hello everyone,,
Has anyone had experience with the newer OAT coolants in their Astons. I understand that the dexcool orange OAT has been discontinued by Ford and replaced by the newer "yellow" OAT coolant which is reportedly compatible with our engines? I will be replacing the thermostat and coolant on my v8v roadster soon and trying to decide which coolant to use, I know the orange OAT coolant is still available.

What new coolant? All orange coolants including the OEM are pretty much just 2-ethylhexanoate + ethylene glycol. It should say on the ingredients.

 

Yes correct my understanding is that OAT orange coolants are essentially all the same. I'm talking about newer OAT coolants released in 2018 that were released by Ford and Valvoline which are listed as OAT but free of Nitites, Phosphorus and silicate for example. These newer "yellow " OAT are reportedly compatible with the orange OAT coolants.

 

I thought we used the red Euro car coolant?

 

What do the Aston dealerships use?
