Swapping out downpipes on DB11 / DBS

I was planning on getting new downpipes for my DB11 w/ V12. I have access to a lift so was considering doing the work myself. Have any of you given this a go and can share your experience a bit? Thanks!

I did it on my '07 DB9. It's a Level 1 out of 10 project. Super straightforward to DIY.

Good luck and be sure to post pics of your work!

Awesome, thanks. I’m guessing a similar swap on the DB11 to your DB9 would be the secondary cat. Curious on what swapping the down pipes that come off the turbine housing would look like. I’m going to get it on the lift tomorrow and spend some time looking it over to see what I’m dealing with. I’ll make sure to document and share the project if I move forward with it.

It's not a similar swap, because the downpipes are in completely different locations between the 5.3TT & 6.0NA V12's. That said, the DB11V12 & DBS downpipes are still relatively accessible. The bottom 3-bolt flange is very easy to get to. The topside connection is a large VBand Clamp, reasonably accessible but the only thing you might run into with turbo Vbands is that sometimes they like to 'weld' themselves to the flanges. Not literally but they can get stuck. Sometimes you need a curved hook or something to get them freed up.

Awesome, thanks Stuart! What about disconnecting and reconnecting the O2 sensors?

Yes, you will need to swap them over. Just unplug them and then remove them once the OEM downipes are out of the car.

Finally finished this project up. It was fairly straight forward. I was able to remove/reinstall both ECUs and replace the downpipes with a new set from VAP. The hardest part was removing the riveted screws that connected the olde downpipes to the exhaust, but other than that it wasn't too hard. I haven't pushed it too hard yet so can't comment on the added power, but it's pretty loud especially in Sport+. The iPhone camera/mic doesn't do it justice. The folks from VAP were a pleasure to work with.
