Looking For Tire Recommendations 2019 Aston Vantage
Looking to replace the stock Pirelli's but wasn't sure if Michelin is the best option. If so I would love insight on Pilot Super sport vs Pilot Sport 4 S. If anyone has had success in getting rid of the tire skipping with a particular tire that would be ideal!
thanks in advance!

When the steering wheel is turned to either extreme when at very low speeds the tires skip almost every time no matter the climate. Dealer claims it's a known non-issue.
The Michelin 4S is hard to beat for a street tire. I will say that I just completed a 1200 mile road trip in my 20 Vantage and I was pretty impressed with the Bridgestone tires is came with. I got hung out in sub-freezing temps on the way home with a little snow and sleet falling as well as wet rain. I took it easy, but I did not have any moments to speak of driving almost 400 miles in 18-degree temps. I will probably swap the stock Bridgestone tires for the Michelin when I wear them out. I will also try and not get caught out in freezing temps again!
I really enjoyed the drive in the new Vantage. It is a wonderful touring car for doing miles on the highway. I was in a pretty remote area and had the chance to really stretch her legs a bit . The car builds speed in a very effortless fashion. It was smooth, quiet and comfy at highway speed and everything above.

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, superior to any tire I have previously owned. Have had Pilot Super Sport, Continental Extreme Contact, Pirelli, and Goodyear. The 4S is the way to go unless the new Michelin Pilot Sport S5 is available in your size.
The 'skipping' is normal at when the steering wheel is pegged.
Thanks,
JH

That's the ackerman effect -
it won't go away with other tires. You can try Toyos and Yokohamas, they're much cheaper than Michelins and they perform 80-90% of them.

My independent also recommended the 4S as a P Zero replacement, I have been very satisfied with grip and handling, but I do not drive like a maniac, so might not be the best judge of 9/10s - May go back to Bridgestone at some point, had nothing but great luck with those on my Porsches . . .
Michelin makes the best tires, hands down. I had Pilot Sport 4S's on my Vantage the whole 4 years I owned it. I've had other cars with everything from cheap Sumitomos to the best Goodyears I could buy, and none of them compared to what you get out of Michelin.
My current Vanquish has Pirelli P-Zeros, which I don't like as much. The sidewalls are too stiff, the compound is too hard, they take too long to heat up and even at temperature they just don't have the grip you get from the Michelins, yet they're still, somehow, more expensive. I plan to replace them with a set of PS4S's soon.

I put the 4s on my 2020 Vantage also. My new 2023 has of course the P Zeros. ‘I think I will replace them in time with the 4s
for the same reasons other folks have mentioned. They even look better on the car.

I like the Aston specific Bridgestone's over the P Zero's on my car. Supple ride. Also a fan of Bridgestone.
Latest Bridgestone Potenza Sport are fantastic. Newer design than 4S, better steering feel but not at the expense of comfort.
Michelin PS4S was a big step up for daily + spirited drives—quieter, better wet grip, and way less cold skip once warmed. Super Sports felt sharper on track but harsher around town. Alignment and proper heat cycles matter too. Funny enough, tire choice reminds me of 11r22.5 sizing on trucks—right spec makes all the difference.
