Observations from 35 years Aston Martin Ownership

I developed this YouTube Video from being a long term Aston Martin owner - in particular for those looking to purchase a V12S or a V8 Vantage. This is my opinion only from my experience owning 3 Lagonda's and 8 Vantages.

Thanks for posting. I haven’t had any problems with any of the five Aston’s I have had. These are unique cars and a pleasure to own and drive, just look at them.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! Excellent tips and comparison notes with the corvette and Roma.

Rick, I hope when you sold the C8 back, you didn't do too badly. I owned one as well for exactly 2 yrs and certainly enjoyed it, but//but-- it had no soul, and no character, so to speak, compared with my V8V. Two different cars of course, but in my case, I do not miss it. I sold mine back to the dealer and two weeks later the bottom fell out of the C8 market. Models just like mine went for 20K under what they were new. I essentially paid 5K per year of ownership, so not too bad.

Nice video. One thing I noticed, and it’s not surprising since you live in Minnesota\, is there’s no comment on the single-clutch sportshift’s ability to handle starts on steep hills. It is, I’m told, simply awful. And if you park on a hill in, say, downtown Seattle or SF, with the nose pointed down and some one comes along and parks right in front of you? Forget it, you’re stuck until he leaves. Haven’t experienced this my self because just being told that by another local driver was enough for me to write the sportshift off of my list.
