Vantage 2019 Carplay installation

Hi all - has anyone had any experience with the https://www.smart-tuning.co.uk/product-page/aston-martin-vantage-applecarplay]Smart-tuning carplay module? Is it reliable and does it require reflashing the infotainment system? Many thanks

If you are getting anything from the UK, then contact Aston Installations. I believe they have a web page.

Many thanks. I am actually in the UK and aware of Aston Installarions. I just feel a bit “adventurous” and want to do it DIY - Aston installations network said that they only do it themselves

There is a company in the US that might have what you need.

I installed the Naviks in my 2014 DB9, works well. Took me a day as i took my time so as not to break anything.

Hi Vasili,

I managed to do it myself, but it was quite a lot of work! 😅

Thanks
Frank

Yes, so good luck, just some numbers:

First, you have to remove the Upholstered shelf cover trim behind the seats which goes from left to right = 4 bolts
The main center console has about 12 bolts, and 7 plugs to remove, 1 in the driver footwell and 3 at the passenger side, 2 plugs in the back (above the battery) and on in the center of the console below the storage compartment, hard to get it unplugged.
Enjoy :-)

Cheers
Frank

The "only do it themselves" must be a UK thing. I bought their kit and installed it last summer here in the US in my 2006 V8 Vantage. It is a great package. While CarPlay was my major objective, converting the standard screen to HD may be its best feature. I also installed the front and rear cameras which work very well. It is the best single modification that I have ever done to a car..and I have done many.

Just to confirm: you disconnected the battery beforehand, right?

Ahh...done; took about 4 hours but was worth it. No major issues but some connections were really hard to come off
