alarm service
You hav e a good point on the 12 volt. The battery didn't have any voltage markings. The only think I saw was an item, small about 5/16" round that had 5V on the top. I will check in to the replacement batteries to c what the voltage is.
That wasn't hard to find . So the replacement battery you can buy on line is a 6V battery for FOMOCO CAR siren alarms. 6G9N-19G229 MODULES ENDING IN AG/CE/CF/DE/DF/DG YEARS 2004 TO 2016. SOME BATTERIES WHERE 2.4V. BACK TO SQUARE 1.
Good to know 6v reference for battery. I've replaced for complete failure meaning damaged boards from leaking battery pack. And have had a new part take awhile to charge before the code cleared. If a different spec module is replaced you will still have the message also IE a low spec module fitted to a high spec vehicle.
Good to k now on the 6 volts. As when I test my unit , the battery measures just over 6 volts at the battery and 5.5 volts at the 3 connecting prongs where the connector goes. So IK wonder if that's my problem. I don't have 6 volts coming out of the sounder box?
I have had the alarm message, put another alarm module in, still getting the alarm message, but the alarm will ring when the car is locked and I try to lift it on stand... don't ask me why
Ok, so I took my non emotional key fob, the plastic one. Push the buttons and nothing happened. So I took it apart and tested the battery full 3 volts. So I thought well it wasn't the key fob. Put it back together pushed the buttons again still nothing. So out of frustration I pushed the button harder and multiple times and than the tail lights went on and off, trunk opened and the door was open the the door locks made the opening noise. So I started the car and the service light was now gone and now says no messages. So Could it be an issue with the circuit board in the key fob?
