DB9 owners please chime in!!!
I am going back and forth between
1. Used DB9 2005-2006, 6 speed manual
2. Used Gallardo 2004, 6 speed
3. Used 2004-2005 Bently CGT
I know these have nothing in common, but they all fall in my price range of $130-140k. They all will have warranty, all can be used as daily drivers (I have a Cayenne also). I am leaning towards the AM since it really is the most car for the money, but I have heard so many mechanical horror stories. If I can get a heads up thats its a solid car and I its not as big of a headache as people say, I want to join. Any info is much appreciated.

Take a look at regular maintence costs too - I have heard the G car is on a par w/ Ferrari - outrageous. Have you looked at a 2007 997 turbo? That is your lowest maintenance cost if added to your list - my 996 TT was reliable as a Toyota - and it was modded, tracked, etc. My AMV8 has been just fine but still very new - scheduled maintenace costs are slightly higher than a Porsche.
I love the new 997TT
The Gallardo is not too bad. Its $2000 for brakes, $4000 for clutch, and $500 for service. Not crazy high, probably even lower than the Aston. Galpin quoted me $8000 for the DB9 clutch, not thats a bit high. If I am mistaken please let me know.
I love Porsches, I have had one at some point since I was 18. Love the new TT, almost too perfect. But I want something else. Its like eating at the same place all the time, but just changing dishes. I want a complete change of venue.

The Vantage V8 is nice, but
1. its going to take a huge hit in depreciation, 1-2 years out.
I hate losing money.
2. The DB9 weighs the same, and has 100 more power.
3. V8 vantage is real tight inside, atleast in the DB9 you can toss you laptop bag or dry cleaning in the back.

2. V8: 1630 kg (3595 lb).
DB9: 1801 kg (3970 lb)
400 pound difference.
3. As for interior space, the DB9 has more legroom because it has rear seats, but there is a tradeoff.
Anyone that has driven both will also tell you that the DB9 is MUCH more of a GT car than the V8, it needs the sport handling to come closer to a sportscar but it is still very much a heavy car.
Read up on your facts before you comment, clearly you are not familiar with these cars.

Moogle, DB9's are in the 170-175 k range new so I think your depreciation percentage is a bit high. The O5's that I have seen are selling in the 130 range now though.
I definitely agree that the two are very different cars from a handling point of view. DB9 is definitely not a canyon carver but a great handling GT.
The biggest issue that I have with my DB9 is that the cabin very tight for a car of its size. It has adequate room but you would think that for the compromise of driving a car of that size, you would get a more comfortable cabin. I have not been in an AMV8 by I heard it is even tighter.

My voteis a V8 or a DB9, if you want to drive with a freind and a two girls than is the DB9 better and when you want a more exotic car, but the V8 is alsohot.Ok the GTis also nice but I think to much on the roads, and Gallardo isa extreme sport car but if you are not small it is very small inside
Depends on what you like in a car. The DB9 will give you the most attention. Everyone will want to talk to you about it.
1. Used DB9 2005-2006, 6 speed manual
Considered the sexiest car by all men and women. A little heavy handling but plenty fast. Everything about the car is made for beauty and speed. Driving it is like keeping a stallion under control.
2. Used Gallardo 2004, 6 speed
Considered the sexiest car by younger men. Light and incredible handling, Everthing about the car is fast with minimal attention to comfort. More of a race car for the streets.
3. Used 2004-2005 Bently CGT
Considered a status symbol by older drivers. Very roomy back seats. Same HP/cylinders as DB9, but more effort was put into ceature comfort and better braking than the DB9. Everything about the car is for comfort and speed. Driving it is like a well trained horse.
The DB9 embodies the essence of all three choices, but you need to drive each to decide what is important to you.

^ I don't see how a DB9 will get more attention than a Gallardo.
It again depends on what you are using the car for, definitely DB9 for everday use since it has backseats and isn't nearly as flashy as the L. I don't really see the point of a Conti GT, eventhough it's a good looking ride the big price tag isn't justified merely because it wears a Bentley badge. The Aston is undeniably a better looking car and you can get it in standard.

BTW the DB9 back seats are useless, they will barely hold your bags. I am 5'7" and the front seats in a normal driving position jut up against the back seats. It's trunk is 1'x1'x4'
I test drove the Conti and it was as almost as fast as the Aston but comfortably sat 4 and had better brakes. The only reason to go that route is if you need a 4 seater and a larger trunk.
Yes, but attention from whom? People who like exotics will walk up and talk to you with the lambo. With my DB9 every man, woman and child finds a reason to speak to me and compliment the car. Its worse than a holding a puppy.

one thing though, the aston will get you attention from the ladies you want to get attention from! sure the lambo will get you the big-lipped, big-titted type, but the elegant beauties flock to the aston! personally, im equal opportunity in that regard

just something to ponder
i guess my experience has been different. when in any italian car i get attention from literally everyone to the point where people almost run into you on the highway trying to take pics with their phones. its really ridiculous. i have ridden around in a DB9 and there were definitely lots of looks but it didn't reach stalker levels like with the italian cars.
