Audi TT advice
Does anyone have any advice on the Audi TT? It's time to get my daughter a car, and she really likes the TT. My price range is around $12K so everything I've seen so far has 70K + miles. I really don't know anything about the TT. What's the reliability like?
My other option is to get her a lower miles Jetta.
Thanks very much,

The TT is a great car. With around 70K you need to make sure that the timing belt has been replaced. Dealer says 110K, but they have been known to break around 60K. I replaced mine around 76K. That is going to be your major service. I personally would make sure it is a quattro. Around 12K it is probably a frontrak.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm not as concerned about the HP part - it's for a 16 year old (with a bit of a lead foot). Although I'm sure for resale, the Quattro will be much more desirable and probably hold its value a bit better.
Maybe the Jetta is the way to go...

You could always look for a Jetta GLI; 180hp 1.8T and 6-speed. Then again, a VR6 might be better for a young driver, only because of the more linear power delivery and driving characteristics (eventhough the little K03 spools very quickly).
Either way MKIV Jettas are cheap and abundant.
