Very nice looking car! My S4 is also a black one and also has a similar widebody conversion like yors, but mine did not put a set of RS4 side skirts to it. My widebody is done like a E46 M3. I bought my RS4 bumper and RS fenders from Achtuning as well.

I bought my S4 new back in April 2002 and 30k out of 32k total miles were a combination of APR and AWE Stage 3 kits. Never had a single reliability issue (other than the GIAC/AWE sw running much stronger than APR back in the day). I ran race gas 100% of the time along with a MBC at 25-6psi with RS6 hybrids.

Only warranty claim over 5 years of ownership was for a fuel pick-up sending unit. As long as these cars are well taken care for, they are just as reliable/more reliable than other bolt-on platform. The awd 4 door sleeper platform is tough to beat!

I love my Stage III car. I've had the K04s in for over 40K and still love it as my DD!

Stage 1 here.
Love this car. 15k miles in 8 months of ownership.
The Maf was the only thing I've had to replace so far.

Wow! I just joined the forum since I've been drooling over P-cars and what do I discover? More S4 people!

I actually am on my second B5 S4. The first one had almost no maintenance from new to 50k miles and it was only a Stg2. My current S4 is Stg3 and I haven't really had any problems with it either. That said, I still don't have 50k miles on this S4 either.

I do think the S4 gets a bad rap due to all the stock turbo failures.

Stage 2+ here, until my K03s blow. Have had to have a lot of things fixed on the car, but I bought an aftermarket warranty so it hasn't cost me too much.

AndyJ, if you're in the market, may I suggest an already-built stage 3 car? If it's done right, all the big maintenance issues will have been addressed and you should have a pretty reliable car with damn near 400whp (on pump gas).

There's a 2002 6-spd santorin AWE stage 3 car with all the STaSIS goodies for sale for $17k up in Northern California. It has around 115k miles and a couple cosmetic blemishes, but is widebody-ready! I can get you in touch with the seller if you're interested. Shoot me an email if you want and I'll forward it on to the seller. I'm not sure if he has his car listed publicly.
