IMO the reason this is not looking right in its current state is because the wheels are a bit too aggressive compared to the rest of the car.

Needs a bit of a drop, maybe an aggressive front lip, and a small spoiler at the back. Nothing gawdy, just something barely noticeable yet aggressive.

lol or your buddy could switch back to less gangster wheels

Yeah, there was a group buy on the VW forums for these wheels. They don't look that bad installed though.
