Ok... So as is becoming evident in most of my posts i'm sure I'm getting ready to move from Boston to LA. I need to buy a new daily driver out there and don't want to spend much more than 15k... I've always loved A4 avants and saw this one for sale. My question is if anybody has experience with the 3.0 motor? Is it reliable? Any issues I should look for on this car? At 56k miles is $15,900 a decent price? I've dealt with 1.8Ts before but never the 3.0.

This vehicle has a 3.0 V6 engine and an automatic transmission. The price isn't bad, but the price on the B6 Audis (Not so much the Avants, though) is falling through the floor.

I've driven the 3.0 and know many who have it. It's a reliable motor, with maintenance (timing belt), with a little pep to it. It's a very linear engine (If I recall correctly) and has a pretty good exhaust note as well (I was surprised by this).

For a daily driver, it's pretty tough to beat an A4, especially an Avant.

 

If your looking for a smooth, quiet engine, this car is good. It has no performance potential what so ever. It's a great daily driver too.
