I understand the R&D costs and the uniqueness of the SC'er in this 12.5:1 compression 4.2L V8. Obvious low boost unit and I guess no internals were done so therefore why is it so expensive?
You must have money to waste otherwise they may sell 2 or 3 conversions only.
I have read that other tuners ( PES, VF and others ) have been working on a SC'er for the Audi 4.2L V8 ( S4, S5, RS4 and R8). Pricing should be much more realistic.

I would like to see MTM detail, at least superficial, a description as to why it is so disproportionately expensive. I know I am dreaming.

Cheers,
Ranger

It takes money to take a fantastic car and improve it significantly.
MTM does alot of very, very good work out of a very small shop. They are
gurus that others go to for help. It is not slapping on a SuperCharger and calling it good. They have upgraded brakes, suspension, handling and motor. It is a package
that is complete and should drive that way.
Buy a used C6 Z06 and throw a 200 shot of Nitrous on it if you want $$/HP.

It is true that other US companies have been working on a supercharger kit for those vehicles... but have yet to release them. When mentioning MTM many people comment about their pricing which is understandable, however the MTM supercharger kits are released in limited numbers which play a large part in the pricing... along with R&D, TUV cert. ,exchange rates etc.

Either way all these companies spend big $$ on R&D which i completly appreciate. The difference is that one company will see profit selling less kits as the other will need to sell many more.
