RS4 brake pads

Are you guys using stock 07 Audi pads? They seem overpriced and I figure they are crap on the track. I was told $550 for new front pads only

My search has come up with nothing. Anyone have suggestions because I need some new pads.

I would like them to be able to handle a track day if i decide but not to aggressive that they won't work in the snow.

Thanks!

I'm using the stock pads, but then I have the Audi Ceramics - so can't offer any personal experience.

However, on a UK forum, the Ferodo DS2500 seem to be highly rated as an an improvement over the OEM Pagid pads, whilst still being OK for daily use. I've heard some poor comments on the EBC red stuff pads, even on lower-weight cars such as a Golf GTI, so I would avoid on the heavyweight RS4.

HTH.

BTW, what issues are you having on the track?

keep an eye on the pads .. replace BEFORE the pad warning light comes on, as the std pads have nasty pins in them

Andy, would you happent to know what depth the rivets in the standard pads are set at?

I have personally seen some nasty examples of deep scoring to the disc when the pads go too low, so Andys advice is very, very wise.
