Used R8 with 13k. Price check?

What's the used R8 market like now?

I went by the Audi dealership here in Atlanta to pick up parts, and on the showroom floor was a used R8 with pretty high miles (around 13k). They were looking to get $105k. Sticker was mid 120's.

I'm not affiliated in any way, just wondering if that's a good deal?

I would say that looks like a good price as long as it was CPOed and looked good.

It depends on the year and options if the used R8 is a "deal". I have a 2009 with all options. I paid $153K for mine. A friend has an '08 with no options. He paid ~$122K. I don't think he would sell his for less than $110K. There have been 1100 R8s sold into the US with model years '08 and '09. Most of them have been '09s. Some cars have been heavily raced. Is the car consigned or traded? I would speak with the previous owner before I would consider purchasing this car.

I personally prefer buying new since these car have not depreciate all that much. 13K miles is kind of high. If you must buy used wait til summer these cars may be under $100K. But you'll miss out 4-5 months of pleasure.

Anybody have access to the latest Manheim prices for 08 R8s? Being exotic cars, I expect those to take a beating in this environment, maybe not as the Lambo's have. A friend (dealer) was at Manheim a few weeks back, and 3 2007 Gallardos traded between 114-117K (all below 12K miles). That's 50% hit in a yr. You can make an argument these are dealer auctions and not available to general public (although it doesn't take much to find someone with a dealer license that will take you there), no financing and cash on hand, but it is still illustrative where the high end market is going, annd the speed with which it is going... And the on-site heliports are no longer congested with Russians and Middle Easterners looking to ship high end cars abroad as they used to prolificly do for years...

I recon R8 prices will def soften, in some areas faster than others (CA, NY, FL), and once the V10 comes out more of that pressure to be seen.

I checked with Mannheim December 24th. They had not had an R8 go through the auction yet, according to my friend with a license. I don't know if this information is up to date beyond 12/24/08.

R8's have been holding their value, even in these economic times. i just paid msrp for mine but got a clear bra thrown in with the purchase. however, if i were looking for one on the used market with 13K, i think i would try to get around 25K - 30K off of msrp.

My daily driver is an Infinity EX35. The dealership is Audi as well. During a recent oil change I walked through the Audi showroom and saw 3 R8's, 2 used and 1 new. Every one was available with a discount. I take my Aston on road rallies and car club events in 4 states. I have never seen more than 1 R8 at an event. Now there are 3 in 1 showroom at a discount. In a short time you will find V10's with LP 560 engines in showrooms as people on wait lists give up their spots because of the economy. The V8 cars are about to become like Turbo 996's. Be patient and you will be able to buy a 10k mile car for 80K. I know this sounds like travesty, but all exclusive cars fall in value to their more powerful advanced successors. Just take a look at F360's. The R8 will be no exception.

Just came out of an Audi dealer where a leftover Papaya RS4 caught my eyes. They had a Daytona Grey and even though they knew I wasn't there for the R8, salesman said they will move it for, quote: "slightly less than sticker". Didn't ask him what slightly means, but truth is there is a lot of Audi dealers in the tristate area and with year-ends taking a noticeable beating, customers are fewer than cars in inventory/pipeline, so something has to give...

Looks like the 08 R8 and the 08 Porsche turbo are following a similar depreciation path. If you can wait till the end of the year, you should start seeing 08 R8's in the 85-95 range. Thats when I might just buy a CPO one..

agree with this - F360s are tanking, as are 07 E63s - now less than $45K - that is a $90K+ car new.
Aston, 996's, Gallardo's - can all be had for <$90k today...R8 will fall.

Not what I was hoping for...This may be worst than the stock market if you are correct.
