Why in the world would you put (2) cheap $30 dollar air filters, and just bolt them to the throttle bodies?? I'll bet money, that those filters caused a loss in power!

What the hell is Platinum thinking?

BMC, K&N, HKS, S&B, Greddy, whatever!

All that thing is doing is sucking in hot engine heat! There is a reason why the factory puts an airbox around the filters, and feeds it a cold air source. It protects the filters from the direct heat that the engine bay produces.

I understand Platinum is known more for looks and show, but on a $150,000 dollar R8, tell them to leave the horsepower to the professionals tuners.

Its not always up to what Platinum does on their car, customer wants something done they will do it. You cant be sure if the owner of the vehicle is driving without the air box cover on. They would not do something stupid like that

If customer asked me to do that, I would tell the customer how to do it the right and proper way.

If I told Platinum to check my muffler bearings and adjust my headlight fluid, do you think they would? Of course I would pay for that service!

I think those are the PPI filter, and they are the opposite of cheap!:

http://oempl.us/index.php?main_page=...roducts_id=594

I don't know of anyone else that makes a hi flow aftermarket filter for the R8.

I think this owner took out the filter box because I don't think those filters actually fit without taking the box out. The OEM filters have a coupler that is a couple inches long between the engine and the filter. Here is a pic of mine:

I was wondering how those aftermarket filters would fit in the box without those extensions. I guess the answer is they won't!

Wow. I didn't see this one. These also appear to be knockoffs of HRE P40s. I know because I designed the P40s. Please be careful and deal only with authorized HRE dealers to ensure you're buying genuine HRE products.

Sorry to hear that there are fake Monoblocks out there, Alan. Mine are coming from Wheels Boutique for my R8, in this same color pattern but the real thing looks better than these.

Thanks for the endorsement of Wheels Boutique, Guy. Of course I already knew Ben had the real thing after seeing the pics out there of his car at the South Florida Toy Rally. Probably the coolest R8 I have ever seen

So at the risk of the wrath of our dealers and my sales guys, I'll list the 6Speed sponsors that I know are authorized dealers. I probably don't have this 100% correct but it should be a safe list. Obviously we have some other great dealers not on 6Speed but I figure it is fair to only mention the guys sponsoring.

Wheels Boutique
Wheel Enhancement
Vivid Racing
Sharkwerks
GMG
Titan Motorsports
Evosport
RPM/Evolution Motorsport
ASR Engineering
AWE Tuning
GMP Performance
Speedware

If you're supposed to be on this list I apologize... that's why I'm not in Sales. I can fix... just PM me.
