David Kirk? He was 'my guy' too.

I keep confusing myself because I've continued posting in my other thread, but I have some new pics in there. Also, like I said in that thread I do plan on getting coilovers probably in the fall, so thanks for the suggestion. Are the Stasis ones I've probably heard a lot about that are the best option but a lot more expensive than the KW's? Have you guys heard of the Hotchkis sway bars? From the little ad I saw on some website, if it actually works than it remedies the top heaviness of the RS4 in the twisty stuff.

i wonder what kind of interest my 2007 Daytona Grey with 7k miles would have garnered (versus buying a new one)?

anyone care to show in a respectable bid?

The RS5 is only going to drop in August if I'm not mistaken. Then tack on however long they'll take to come in since there have been a handful of people with them ordered for months now; that's not to mention premiums. Sure it'll be worth the wait, but I did need to get something asap. I don't have any regrets, but damn I'd be lying if I said I won't be jealous of those first few lucky owners of the RS5. It will no doubt be a sick ride.

Are the pictures of the RS5 out there now actual verified of what the car will actually look like? If so, its too damn bland to me. One thing I didn't like about my BMW 335 was it's "slab sided" appearance. The RS4 looks good because of the flared fenders. Love the front of the 5 but the rear and side profile really is bland. Interior is the best out there in its price range.

i agree with that, the RS4 reminds me somewhat of the CLK Black Series with the wider body and flares. " Race car for the Streets", hopefully Audi can up the annie on the RS5

I didn't look into sway bars, but that is an interesting thought. The newer (2009+) Audis with the engine set back more like the BMWs and Vettes, GT-R, etc, is a better weight distribution for aggressive/track driving. As for coilovers, I know of two guys in my area that have the KW's installed on their RS4s, and they have said that they work great for track use but aren't as comfortable on the street. That's their opinion, and I had no personal experience with the KW's. The Stasis rides better than stock in Street Performance mode, but it does cost $4K. On the track I used 18" TR Motorsport MT1 lightweight wheels that you can get from TireRack, with Toyo R888s, and when you put the coilovers on Track Aggressive you have a dramatically faster track car than a stock RS4.

As far as daily driving, the RS4 is fantastic. No problems, all smiles. I've got Milltek resonated exhaust and nothing else. I've ridden in a friend's RS4 with Stasis and it was definitely hunkered down but I don't track this car so it's not for me.

otherwise, I love this damn car.

and vvacr, Congratulations! I love the silver with Titanium package. I wanted to get the blacked out look but it wasn't an option for the 07s. Best of luck and put some Milltek on it to hear a fantastic soundtrack.

Thanks for the comments guys. I don't plan on tracking the car but I would like to remedy some of the 'top-heaviness' of the car on the back roads. I think I may try those sway bars just to see if they're as effective as Mr. Hotchkis says they are. As far as exhaust goes, Milltek sounds like its the way to go. The flat bottom wheel will differently be the first thing to come, sway bars next, and finally the exhaust. I think that'll just about do it for this thing, should be all done by the end of driving season.

edit - this is just a thought I've had in the back of my head, and it might be a silly question, but is there any flash that can change the 40:60 split to something like 35:65 or 30:70?

Go GMG WC exhaust, sounds more throaty to me. That is the one I'm going to get, with black tips.
