The LP-560-4 still makes more power than the V10 R8. Also, given that it's a lambo, it's obviously supposed to be an upmarket placement. Gotta love these cars though- some great sportscars coming out of VAG.

Are you sure they are the same exact transmission, though? I know they are the same kind. What do you mean "if you compare"...
If so, is it like the E-Gear in 04-08, or revised in LP?

 

R tronic is Audi brand speak, some cars are DSG and some are single clutch. And yes its exactly the same except for software differences, it's the Magnetti Marelli system that Ferrari uses as well.

 

I am sorry for sounding naive, I am sure you feel like it's beating a dead horse.

I know the R-Tronic is Audi's version, E-Gear is Lambos. I know the companies are nearly 1 in the same.
But are the transmissions actually the same equipment with a different name, or different systems? E-Gear and F1 might work the same way, but they are not the same (shift times, smoothness, clutch life, etc etc are all different). Also, the E-Gear from earlier Gallardos and the LP are different (maybe it's software, not a mechanical difference), so which is R-Tronic like?

The 2nd gen Magnetti Marelli single clutch system is the same as R tronic hardware wise. As far as software the R8 does not have the Corsa mode and shift as fast as the Lambo.

No offense but with new LP560-4's going for close to $200k, I would not even consider an R8 V10.

 

Come to the softer, gentler side, germeezy. You know you love the R8.
