opinions on audi Q7

What are your guys thoughts on the Q7 tdi? it's about time for us to pick up a new suv. we want something with 3rd row seating and better mpg (hybrid or diesel). The other car we're looking at is the mercedes gl bluetec diesel. What are the pros/cons of each? Are the q7's going for msrp or below?
thanks

Ive been driving a Q7 for the past year and a half I have a 4.2 v8 but I am in country where milage is really not something people consider before buying a car The Q7 is a great daily car. The rear seats are great but the 3rd row is not for adults at least not for long rides. Trunk space is limited with 3rd row seats up. Compared to a cayenne S, I would take the Q7 any day. maintenance is not the cheapest but its built solid nothing major happens to it anyway. good luck with your purchase.

Those seem like two very interesting choices. You might just need to drive both and see which one feels better to you. Our family car is a Q7 4.2 and we like it a lot for handling, room and AWD. I personally do not like the 6-speed automatic in the 4.2 because it upshifts too quickly, but there is a sport mode to hold the gears longer. I have heard that the V6 engine's transmission is better. I'm interested in driving the 3.0 TDI that is now available in the US from the standpoint of improving gas mileage. The HP is down but the torque is way up. I don't know anything about the Mercedes, however. I have only driven Audis the past 7 years. Drive both!

I'm curious...how much is a gallon of gas in your country?
