Nicely Modded Avant Getting a B7 GT Kit at A.W.E. Tuning

Hi folks!

I wanted to give you a visual walk through of a recent B7 GT28-71R Turbo Kit Installation we performed in house.

This car belongs to a local client who has a very nice track-prepped avant but was looking to take things to the next level.

Here are the modifications installed on the car when it arrived.

Engine/Power Modifications:
A.W.E. Tuning FMIC
A.W.E. Tuning Exhaust System
A.W.E. Tuning HPFP
G.I.A.C. Software
Aftermarket High Flow Cat
Aftermarket Intake

Suspension:
Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers
Aftermarket Sway Bars and Center Differential

Brakes:
Carbotech Bobcat Race Pads
Stasis/Alcon 349mm Front Rotors

Exterior:
Vorsteiner Double-Sided Vented Carbon Fiber Hood
Carbon Fiber Mirror Housings
E-Code Headlights

Interior:
Electric Boost Gauge with Podi Housing
Hardwired V1
Full LED Interior

As you can see the owner had carefully addressed key areas of the cars performance with some well chosen upgrades. Now it was time to give the car the power it deserved.

On the lift waiting for the transformation to begin:

Single-Tip Exhaust System and aftermarket HFC have been removed.

Intake and associated piping are out

Our technician preparing the GT28-71R for installation. (Yes, he really does move that fast.)

Here are some pictures of the assembled Turbo, Manifold and Cat Section, ready to be installed on the car.

Heart transplant complete.

Giving the engine bay a last once over after hardware installation has been completed.

The client also took this opportunity to upgrade to a Quad Tip Exhaust System with Diamond Black tips.

The next step is to upload our proprietary GIAC software which ties together the thoroughly engineered hardware and makes rock solid, daily driveable 377hp at the crank.

That’s a wrap! Completed, road tested and ready to go.

The client picked up the car last Friday and has had a week to get familiar with it. I’ve asked him to put together some impressions and respond to this thread when he has a chance.

While we wait to hear his driving impressions, please check out this article published in this months issue of European Car. It highlights not only our B7 GT28-71R Kit but also our Mk5/A3/TT 2.0T TSI K04 Kit. : http://awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/0510_ec.pdf

Feel free to ask any questions you have about the install or our B7 GT28-71R Turbo Kit.

Cheers!

I have this strange love for the Avants..Nice build, I'm sure the client was more than pleased with the heart transplant and other modifications.
