R8 = true mid-engined sportscar, attention magnet, 2 seater
CLK BS = a faster Grand Tourismo, 4 seater
GT-R = nice price, very good performer, 2 + 2 seater

All three are fantastic. It really depends on your needs...and how much attention you want. Not everybody will know what a BS is, and you'll get a fair bit of looks with the GT-R, but neither of them will prepare you for the celebrityhood of driving an R8.

Happy shopping.

Oh, I love the R8. It is an amazing car indeed. It makes a fantastic sound (in spite of what you might read on the Internet indicating otherwise), it's very quick, and is supremely stable at high speeds. The ride is a perfect balance of being stiff enough for hard cornering, exhibiting minimal body roll in the process, but having enough compliance to coddle occupants over relatively poorly paved roads. I'm sure there are plenty of cars that will beat it from stoplight to stoplight, some of them costing thousands of dollars less, but if you're not worried about drag racing at every intersection, it's a truly fantastic example of a useable, everyday supercar.

In comparison to the C63 AMG, hmm...let's see...well, I guess you can't really compare them. The C63 has gobs of torque (much like the Black Series you're contemplating), and is an excellent car for carrying 4 passengers in relative comfort when you can't give up the need for speed. Some people complain about the low-rent interior, but I quite like it. The chassis isn't as good as an R8's, of course, but that's not to say it's not great in itself, just that the R8's is on another level.

For straight out speed, though, neither car will touch the R35. Nissan's GT-R is a technological tour de force, but I can't see me driving one. The image is all wrong (for what I need), but if that's not an issue for you, it's definitely worth considering.

Go do some test drives. It'll make your decision even harder to make, but at least it'll give more context to the numerous opinions you'll gather from the Internet.

Good luck!

So I take it you dont mind driving rear wheel drive in the snow?
Also, it was posted above that the black series is 4 seats...that is incorrect.
It has deleted rear seats. So it will only seat 2. As will the R8 obviously.
The GTR is 2+2 but you would need small people or children to really use it.
From your choices it doesnt sound like you are too worried about that though.
The CLK would be the worse in the snow for the obvious reason it is the only one without all wheel drive, and even with snow tires it would be a handful I bet. All that aside, the ones with most ease of day to day would probably be the audi R8 or GTR. Staying within your choices I would go with the GTR. You get the fastest of the bunch, All wheel drive, affording a brand new one with a 100k budget is easy because you can get one for 79-85k, and it has the most space...I believe. Then you will have plenty of money left over to get a nice titanium exhaust and some wheels or other simple mods as you described.
Just my thoughts...hope they help.

Don't forget that the Black Series has the older version of MB's Speedshift gearbox. It's automatic, has a torque converter, and doesn't rev-match on downshifts like it does on the C63 which has the newer Speedshift Plus.

As for driving a powerful RWD car in the snow...

Like the 997TT, no matter what u do to the Nissan, it will never look or sound as sexy as the R8 V8 or V10.

P.S. Porsche119 is rite, only the CLK63AMG non-BS has 4 seats.
so 1 more reason to go for the R8.
