I test drove the A6 s line 3.0T with 8 speed transmission, I wasn't sure if the A6 2.0 had the same rev match downshift as the 3.0T. I'm buying it for my wife and wanted to have some fun in it when i take it out. Saving 10k on this package would be great too but if the 2.0 don't have that option i might just go with the 3.0T. Both s line models look exactly like the same thats why i asked. Is tiptronic the option that makes it rev match? I'm new to Audi so please excuse my noob questions.

 

S-tronic or Sportronic is the Rev matching transmission...Tiptronic is the standard auto....Looks like the 2.0 and 3.0 only have tiptronic transmission...S6 has the S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox....Thats a hot transmission!

 

Strange, i drove the 2013 A6 S line where its just the trim. It thought it had rev matching since it was almost spot on to rev matching. I guess ill look into the S4 since they got 7speed s tronic. Thanks!

The A6 Tiptronic does match shifts. Its NOT a dual clutch computer controlled manual...thats only on the S cars.

 

How does the 2.0 do in the A6 platform? Just seems a tad too small

 

It's a little weak, but not horrible. I had one as a loaner.
