The New SR 8 kit for Audi A8 D4 by Hofele from GMP Performance
Take one look at a picture of the SR 8 kit, and it’s not hard to see what the brains at Hofele Design were going for when they created it. The A8 is always classy, always elegant, always quintessential Audi. But what if you want a little more sporty appeal?
Hofele is here for you. The SR 8 kit is sporty without being flashy, strong without being a bruiser, unique without redefining the car you love. As Hofele describes it, their take on how an RS8 would look if it came directly from Audi itself.
The new body kit consists of a complete front bumper with original RS5 mesh inserts, a rear apron with diffuser, a stainless steel quad-pipe sports muffler and a rear trunk spoiler. The front bumper has big air intakes and the rear bumper apron houses a paintable diffuser with four tailpipes nestled within. Hofele-Design also offers the spoiler and the rear diffuser with a layer of real carbon, as well as carbon mirror housings.
Engine tuning offered includes reprogrammed engine management which taps the unused reserves of the 4.2-liter V8 engine which brings power output from 372 HP (274 kw / 367 bhp) up to 390 HP (287 kw / 385 bhp) and the 4.2-liter TDI CR is tuned from 350 HP (257 kw / 345 bhp) up to 390 HP and a stomping 900 NM (664 lb-ft).
The electronic speed-related lowering module ETS lowers the Audi A8 with air suspension up to 40mm. The system is only active on speeds under 45 mph (70 km/h). On speeds over 45 (70 km/h), the system is deactivated to give the chassis full comfort and security.
Since Hofele wants you covered from the bottom up, you have your choice of 6 alloy wheels in size 9J x 20" up to 10J x 22" to choice from. High tech sport brakes, in 4-piston and 6-piston options, finish it all off.
Obviously, the tuning program can’t convert your A8 into an all-out super sports car but it certainly lets it look like one!
