No 2013 audi r8

How come Audi skipped 2013 for the R8?

I am contemplating a convertible R8. I haven't been totally convinced of the looks but people who have driven it, says it is a beast. Almost as fun as a F430.
I'd like to stay under $120k used and have seen a 2012 white on red with 2k miles for $122k. It is a v8

Is a v10 worth the extra money? I have read reviews where people said the differences in speed are minimal and not worth the extra money. Thoughts on people who have driven both.

I personally have not driven one yet, but am also considering an R8........I wouldn't even consider the v8 just for re-sale reasons and I have seen V10 spyders in the $120K range.

I may just sit tight until more info about the re-designed R8 comes out.....

V10 is my book is the only way to go on a R8. The only reason to do the V8 is if you are going to use it for DD. Or you are looking at a older car and trying to stay under budget.

The V10 just felt like a event while diving it, the V8 much less so. In fact I liked a friends TT-RS better then the v8 honestly. If cash limited I would look at a V10 coupe and upgrade in a few years time.

There was no 2013 R8 in the North American market ONLY. ROW had the 2013 R8 and it was the first year of the "facelift" R8.

I believe there were too many 2012 R8s on the dealers lot that had to be sold so they discounted them like crazy ($20-$35k off). The R8 has since returned as a 2014 "facelift" model.

With regards to V8 vs V10..drive both for yourself but the V8 is just a tad too slow. The V10 also has much more potential as it is a de tuned version of the Lamborghini Gallardo V10.

V10 is well worth the money in my opinion. Once you've heard, driven and experienced the 10, when you go back and drive the v8 there's just something lacking.. Still the same great style, but that extra "get sucked into your seat" feeling is just something youll be searching for..

From the reviews I've read, everyone is saying that a manual V8 is the only way to drive an R8. I've never driven one though, so your results may vary.

The thing looks so damn nice, I'd definitely get the 'least desirable' combo just to get into one.
