Went to my local Audi dealer today (Stevens Creek Audi) to have a filler plate installed in the new 2014 Q5 TDI I bought my wife last week. While waiting for it to get swapped out I walked on to the showroom and saw a Brand new RS7. I guess some guy from Facebook ordered it and when it came in he didn't like it. So they put it on the floor for $30K over MSRP. ~ $157K. Nice car but no way would I pay $30K over for any much less an Audi. I was lucky to get $1500 off MSRP on the Q5 TDI since i was a repeat customer and they threw in the filler plate. Right now it's a 3 month wait for the next Q5 TDI to arrive. I guess they are flying off the shelfs or pre ordered out till April. People are buying cars in Silicon Valley like it's rainy money out here or something.

Oh yeah it is... A few folks from Nest will be showing up pretty soon since there recently announced $3.2B buyout from GOOG. The valley is crazy. Easy money.

30k over?! That's insane.

A few years back, Ford dealers were asking $30-40k over MSRP for GT500s. It would only take a few minutes to sit down with them, talk numbers, and have them drop back down to reasonable prices. Again... Insane.

 

Must be nice to be a part of a great startup?! I'm on the long line of work. At 32 im too lazy to start over.
