For those that have driven, torque question...

I am waiting for the delivery of my RS4, hoping to get to drive one at SOT. I wanted to find out about the RS4 street drivability.

Specifically, how much do you have to rev it up before you start to feel it pull? With my 911 I thought it was great as a day to day, and around town driver because I felt it pulled from real low down in the power band, and how power no matter the revs This is in contrast to my M3 which felt better suited for the track than the street because to me it always felt like you had to really rev it up to about 5500 before it felt like it was starting to pull. I was wondering which the RS4 felt closer to from those that already own one, or have driven one.

Thanks.

Can only speak for my S4, but she has plenty of low end grunt. It gets happy after about 3500 RPM, but there is enough to pass without dropping 2-3 gears - that just makes the pass more exciting.

they do Ok down low but not great. The engine is definitely set up for high revs though because at abot 3500rpm, it just takes off and pulls to the moon.

I drove one 2x this past weekend. The first was really mellow, basically daily driving (weird tech in the car who didn't want me to speed). It's really easy to drive around, the clutch throw is super short and there's plenty of power (obviously).

The second time was the screamer. I really liked it after the first drive, but after the second it I was in love. Unfortunately I can't compare it to many other performance cars in terms of driveability. A couple times my GF had it in the complete wrong gear (4th instead of 2nd) and it pulled through just fine.

It has a very linear powerband. I had no problem jumping in the car and driving it smoothly. Well I guess you would have to ask Angry if it was smooth...

I drove it 2x and both times I was flooring it compared to my e39 M5, the shifts were short and smooth especially for a car with 13 miles on it. what I liked most was the stability control was on and it let you have some fun before it kicked in. unlike my M5. also I felt that the car was well balanced. Hell I feel like replacing my M5 for it.
