04/05 S4 Paddle Shifter Question

I have a quick question regarding the 04/05/06 s4 Tiptronic model. Do they all come with paddle shifter? or is just an option

Thanks

Also one other thing, why do most say they have navigation, yet some use the traditonal nav setup (large screen by cd player) and others use the Audi version (by the Guages) Im sure these are total NOOB questions, but any and all help would be great.

I'm pretty sure all the tips WILL come with the paddles.

The nav question could probably be better answered on audiworld or audizine.
I think it's because the CD based NAV w/the screen didn't come until later on. I don't even know if the "good" (RNS-E or RNS-F) nav systems come on the NA cars yet, a lot of people retrofit imported ones from Europe (with the NA DVD). They are DVD based with the SD card slots for playing MP3's.

1. All 2006s with Tips have paddles.
2. All 2006 Nav have the new DVD/SD drive as well.

I think for the A4, you need to have the sport package - did yours have that ray? I know my old a4 tip didn't have the steering wheel tip controls and that was because they only came with the sport / tip combo.

My friend's 05.5 has them, so I'm sure the 06's do.

okay, in 2002 a4s had shifter buttons on the steering wheels (like the b5s), then when the ultrasport was introduced, they took off the regular a4s and reserved only for the ultra(s-line). This is the same for the b7s, except you get paddles with s-lines and s4s, however in 2k4, the S4 only had paddles if you got the regular steering wheel, if you got the multifunction wheel, they took those away.

That's funny, my 02 is non-sport but 04 with sport package. Maybe Robots is right, my 04 is not ultrasport.

The 04' S4 does not necessarily have the paddle shifters for the Tip. The multi function wheel was not compatible with paddles for 04'. That was corrected in 05' so all will have the paddles.
