I dont think I will be takin my name off the list just yet. I'm not going to believe a price like that till its officialy from audi. Because at 130k base price, they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

I can almost garanty you that it will not cost 130 000 dollars.

Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the expected price of the R8 and, therefore, miscast some of its competitors. Also, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was described as having a V-12 engine. That car has a supercharged V-8 engine. We regret the errors.

looks great!... don't know about that side vent.... looks kind of odd...... I visited the website and it's not available in red! I think red would have been a hot color for this car....

I have a friend who works as a stunt driver and hes actually one of the drivers for the up coming R8 commercial.
It was actually kind of funny. In his line of work you dont really ask too many questions, some one just calls and asks if your available and you say yes or no.
So he gets the call from the production people asking if hes available for an Audi commercial. He says "yeah sure"
Drives out to Willow Springs out here in California and then upon reaching one of the AD's asks him if he'd like to see the car he would be driving first and he says no thinking that its probably just for the Audi SUV or something.
Then time comes to start shooting..he turns a corner and sees two R8's waiting there for him and freaks out. He got to drive the R8 on track ALL DAY!
Supposedly they shut down apart of LA for another portion of the commercial. I think there are pictures of it somewhere on this forum but the person driving it there is the other stunt driver they hired who drove the second R8 on track with my friend.
