gallardo territory?
I thought Audi would not do that in order to protect the Lambo brand.

+1... with those other cars I don't think I'd drive it as much anyway.

well the RS4 is a monster so it's safe to say that this is a more sports car oriented machine. it should be great

I have had the R8 on order since July. 420HP v-8 will come first, next will be the V-8 Cabrio and in 2010 the V-10 will follow. I expect a base price in the $100K range with most desirable items as options making the R8 a $120K to $130K price. The base price will raise to $120K with the V-10. I will have all the carbon, the R-Tronic and the Nav options at the very least.

Would anyone consider a diesel R8?

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/11/...option-for-r8/

Audi could offer a diesel version of its new R8 sports car in the future, according to Wolfgang Hatz, Audi's executive director of powertrain development. Hatz made the comments in the latest issue of Italy's Quattroruote magazine.

Hatz said Audi hopes to improve consumer perception of its diesels by further reducing noisiness of the engines. He said he also hopes Audi will offer a diesel engine in the R8 sports car. The obvious choice would be the V12 TDI motor first used in the R10 race car, and now available in the Audi Q7. The engine produces 500 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

Currently I favor Ice Silver as the primary color with Apollo Silver blades and the split 5-arm wheels. My RS4 is Daytona, however I don't think the darker colors flatter the lines of the R8. Some buyers are going to be unhappy with their choice if they make the primary and blade color significantly different as the contrast will not be attractive.

The interior of the R8 is even hotter than the interior of my RS4 and based on the videos of pre-production testing, I may not have to change the exhaust to hear the car.
