The downpipes do make the system louder, but it also pushes the sound a little farther back. I have the non-res without valves and love it. There is no droning to my ears and it is still relatively subdued inside the cabin with the windows up. Outside the car or driving with the windows down is a totally different story. Sounds to me like you should do the resonated w/o valves (totally worthless IMO) and skip the downpipes.

Interesting. You say the resonated cat-back w/o valves is worthless. Zulu says the system w/ valves is worthless.

I believe there is significant power in the down pipes. The dyno results in this thread indicate a 21 HP gain with just the catback. No idea what the DP's contribute, if any. The valve on my system is in no way worth the add'l dollars as the sound change is minimal. These cars have an insane comp ratio of 12+ : 1, that's where the sound is. If you do not like LOUD, then you should forget the DP's and get the resonated version. I think it sounds great and love it, but it is not for everybody that's for sure.

22lbs...No spacers, they are RS4 specific. 20 x 9.5 ET30
