MTM's Supercharged RS4
Here’s the first one in America, and then they got the second one.

People have had their cars shipped from NY to Washington to get this thing put on.

ART, AWN, BBD are all compatible engines. The internals don’t matter anyways in terms of the kit. The only thing that matters is the intake, because that’s what the headunit takes the place of. Any engine with that intake can have that supercharger mounted to it, despite internals or compression. Each is put on the dyno and tuned for 98 after the install. Price is a relative term, to do it right you need to factor in the install, the tuning, and where you go to and who you know. It is actually really a straightforward install, just a lot of labor. You know one Audi, you know them all, plus most of the VW’s. The earlier 4 valve 4.2’s start with a lower static compression and can take advantage of boost more then the newer engines. That S from Speedware, the owner said when he was on a drive, he was at 180 and still had peddle left. One evil wagon!

For the MTM K540, if the final product is as advertised (so far Ian Kuah has driven only the prototype), then these are the claims:
0-100kph/62mph in 3.9
0-200kph/124mph in 11.3
top speed > 320kph or 199mph
Not bad for the family sedan.

I do like those wheels, and I think the extra width really helps fill in those huge flared fenders.

If a larger turbo kit was available for the RS6, it could probably do the same seeing that they're about $50k used right now.
I’ve scene S4's built for way cheaper then 100K. When done right, they will run circles around, 911’s, BMW’s, Ferrari’s, Viper’s, and Panoz to name a few. That 2.7 is a nasty engine. I know a lot about the politics behind the situation, but Audi should really consider getting into GT in the ALMS. It would be cool to see them back in rallying as well.
BTW, Audi’s are not drag cars, neither are Porsches. I don’t see why anyone cares about what they do on the ÂĽ mile. Take it to the road course where they belong. On a proper circuit its not about the engine its about the whole package, grip being the key player. That’s what Quattro’s for.

The RS4 is a cool car but once you've ridden in a FI'd car (ie even mildly built 2.7T), an RS4 seems slow.
Same goes for the s/c'd B6/B7 S4...I've heard from some up that way that the car wasn't as impressive as anticipated. <shrug> To each his own.
Regarding Audi getting into ALMS with the 2.7T, they're in it with the 2.0T and STaSIS (who's doing a wonderful job). The 2.7T and 4.2T are too old now to compete; the B5 chassis is already retired.
Agreed on the 1/4 mile times...I was just demonstrating, as do others, the performance potential of the vehicles as 1/4 miles times are more universal than what one does on a road course (as what you do on a road course up your way means nothing to someone in FL who can't race on the course near you).
<thumbup>
I don’t think Stasis dose anything Le Mans. Your thinking the speed world challenge, there’s a big difference. I just thought it would be cool to see two Audi’s busting down the straight at de la sarthe, one an LMP1 and another a GT1. It most likely won’t happen, mainly because of DTM and other marketing crap.
Personally from my prospective none of those times, or stats really matter. I don’t believe any numbers I would see in a dealer pamphlet, or on some car and driver show. You shouldn’t buy or compare cars off a t-chart. If you did you would have an M5, and some guy in a 911 would be laughing at you. A corner is a corner, and a straight is a straight wherever you are in the world.
That S4 was very impressive. The bad part about 99-current Audi’s is weight and size. That’s why I will always have at least one older Audi 91-95. Like comparing a yacht to a Malibu. The luxury crap really doesn’t impress me anymore. Different stokes for different folks.

A bit OT, but what do you use as a yardstick to measure vehicles you're looking at then?
My *** in the seat, and my hands on the wheel. If you show up a dealer who doesn’t know you, you haven’t bought any cars from them and you got on some Oakley gloves and shoes, ready to race I don’t think they will want to be your friend. This hasn’t stopped me yet. Top Gear is one show that I actually think has some credibility to it. Plus they manage to make it interesting and humorous. Other then that show and some select people I trust, I don’t believe what others say about cars. You never know you could dive something and end up liking it, when most criticized it. Audi’s tend to be that way a lot too. On paper they most times suck, heavy, luxury, more show then go. But in real live situations they will amaze you, one of the few manufactures that can pull this off.
Sorry to be over the top, but I really love racing and driving, especially in an Audi.

Good answer.
Definitely true about Audi's.
