Trade-in the 1.8T for a new 2.0T?
Brought the A4 to the dealer because I haven't been happy with my brakes (see https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/....php?t=85312).
The svsc mgr test drove it and said it is up to snuff, and in panic stops he claims he almost went through the windshield. I asked him if he test drove it down the windy and twisty road a couple of blocks away and he said yes. The problem is that you can only (safely) get up to 40mph if you really push it, or faster if you want to crash. The car was sitting for hours, so he didn't get the brakes warmed up- not the same as driving 75 mph for half an hour.
Of course it stoped on a dime! He also said that they checked the rotors and pads and they are wearing normally, and that the tech saw that everything was normal.
Now I need to make a choice- keep the car and upgrade the brakes and suspension, or get a new 2007 A4 2.0T.
I know there are tons of mods available for the 1.8T that will make the car faster, handle better, and stop better, but don't know whether the 2007 with the sport package is the better choice.
Is the 2007 2.0T better than a 1.8T with a Stasis brake system, RS4 sway bars and coilovers. I have yet to drive a 2007, but I would bet that most of the people in this forum have.
Suggestions, please?

Comparing a stock 07 to a stasis equipped B6 isn't too fair a comparison. But I do know the 2.0T is a far better engine then the old 1.8T. Look at the power APR is getting out of the 2.0T.
Check out the Stasis pre-tuned A4's you can buy, they are pretty sweet. Apparently you can even order them through some dealers.

Bobby - Decide whether it's worth the money to upgrade the current one... If it's paid off, still runs well, etc., it might be worth it to drop $6K and beef up the brakes and suspension properly. If not, then get a 2.0T and chip it.
Wait for the 08. I hear it will have s-line appearance standard and a few small things standard as well for around the same price. Or look into other manufacturers. I wouldn't spend thousands on an old car that you'll eventually sell anyway.
Got a good deal plus $2.5k after the dealer buyout on my '05. Plus, there's a bubble in my tire, and the braking issue pisses me off- I like to drive fast, and the break fade is dangerous.
