I thought SMG was only offered on M cars? Are you sure this isn't just steptronic?

 

Yes, this is a real SMG car. NOT an automatic, but a 6 speed SMG. It was available as a special order option on Z4s. It is a rather rare, hard-to-find option.

Any prior panitwork/body damage? How long have you owned it?

I have owned it since 2007. No paintwork or damage or stories. All maintenance performed ahead of time, more oil changes than BMW's minimum (I did in-between oil changes). Current oil has 1k miles on it and was changed in November. I have also performed the vanos seal replacement maintenance with the Besian kit. The result is amazing gas mileage (notice 28mpg on current tank above) and full power from that M54 engine! Highway, this car gets 32-33mpg.

This is not a concours car however. This has been my daily driver until this winter, and was a dd for the previous owner. Normal front-end small nicks are present as a result. There is a scratch on the gas cap, a small scratch on the trunk, and a ding on the passenger side door that is too small to have pulled.

With that said, I have had all the above items detailed to the point of almost not being able to see them. I have clay bar'd the car, and use Meguire's carnauba wax regularly and Klasse paint sealer. Water rolls right off the finish. The soft top has been regularly treated with Ragg Topp cleaner and sealer, the officially recommended product by Hartz, the manufacturer of BMW OEM soft tops. This car is ready to be your top-down cruiser, and look good doing it!
