Quote: Perhaps he could be a bit more tactful, but he does have a point. If he is pointing out the current prices, then he is helping to save buyers and the sellers wasted time. And while it is fair to try to get the best price (of course we all want that when we sell), if you are going to post on 6speed then be aware that there are educated buyers.

That being said, I am amazed that a car like this would dip down into the 120's. The economy is just rough.
I just wanted to give my opinion on this, I would understand and appreciate if a wholesaler/dealer/vendor jumps in here to tell us about the current used values of gallardos, someone that sells/buys them everyday. But when just someone all of a sudden jumps here to give one or two gallardo examples that sold for cheap, it just doesn't help. No details, just year and sold price. Cars, especially exotics, could have stories, paint works, issues, odd color combinations and many more other reasons why they might be asking less. I am not saying they had stories, but if you anyone wants to compare, lets compare them right.

When I was buying my gallardo, there was also a spyder with less miles and they were asking less than the coupe. Later, I found out, it had a repainted rear quarter panel.

Anyways no hard feelings please anyone but if you don't like the price but serious about purchasing, PM me and we can work out a deal. 150 is only a starting price and it is negotiable of course. All offers welcome.

It is not a good market for sellers that is for sure and I am just hoping economy gets little better by summer

I think the prices have been dropping dramatically but 04's with STANDARD mileage and good condition in the 70's seems a bit extreme. 07's in the 120's are also NOT common at least on the retail aspect. Dunno about dealer and auction pricing though.....just my 2 cents

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Im sure there are more good deals to be had today than 6 mo. ago, particularly with a cash purchase. But you show me an 07 that sold for $120k and I'll either show you a seriously desparate seller or a car with some issues. In either case, it is not the norm ....even in today's market.

Memo:

Good points and you are right, I agree. 115k to 120k seems very low and so does 70's for a 2004. I made a guy on here a loose offer for his orange 2004 at about 89k and he was not impressed, haha. So yeah, there is a significant difference between the "best possible price" and what it can really sell for.

Here are some more recent manhiem sales records. Please do not be so bias in your constant posting of low prices. If you are going to try to prove a point.. please don't post evidence only supporting your argument.

2008 Models:
Date Auction Sale Type Price Mileage Cond Color Eng Trans In Sample
12/09/08 $146,000 1,945 Avg ORANGE 10G A No
04/10/08 ATLANTA Regular $205,000 228 Avg Yellow 10C N No
10/30/08 NEVADA Regular $189,000 66 Avg YELLOW 10G A No
11/13/08 NEVADA Regular $177,000 111 Avg YELLOW 10G A No

2007 Models:

11/20/08 RIVRSIDE Regular $125,000 4,580 Avg BLACK 10G A No
11/20/08 RIVRSIDE Lease $115,000 6,115 Avg ORANGE 10G A No
11/20/08 CHICAGO Regular $131,000 4,972 Avg BLACK 10G A No
05/13/08 DFW Lease $170,000 21,698 Above WHITE 10G A Yes
06/19/08 RIVRSIDE Regular $159,000 15,529 Above YELLOW 10G A Yes
07/10/08 MANHEIM Regular $171,750 4,546 Above WHITE 10G A Yes
09/18/08 MANHEIM Regular $171,000 1,678 Above ORANGE 10G
09/25/08 RIVRSIDE Lease $135,000 15,042 Avg YELLOW 10G
11/11/08 FAAO Regular $146,000 1,193 Above BLACK 10G A Yes

Average condition always has some work that needs to be done on the car. The scratches, window cracks, damaged rims, or anything else obviously will bring down the cars sale value.

The op's car is in mint condition, well kept, rare color, and low miles. He has priced it reasonably well.

Quote: eLus, you havent posted and more recent 2007 auction sales than i have, we both saw the 11/20/08 sales and put them up. you posted a 2008 coupe sale from 12/9/08 at 146K, which is even lower than the 2008 ebay sale i posted at 150K.

so i am not sure where your "RECENT" info is.

i am not trying to lowball any cars in an effort to buy them, my motivation is to pass on facts.
I understand that but my point was to take into consideration the condition of the car. Small things add up. If you can find me an above average condition sell at your stated price, i would more than happy to side with you.

11/11/08 FAAO Regular $146,000 1,193 Above BLACK 10G A Yes. Closest to your date Above average condition.

Edit: Sorry for taking the post off-topic. I will stop posting here. Just wanted to chime in on the discussion and throw in a few facts.

Wow If I knew all that was going to happen.. I would have never started the thread. The car will soon go on the autotrader and cars.com

The white G that sells on ebay.. first time seeing that color combo (white exterior with tan interior) that could be one of the reasons if there is not lot of demand on that color combo the seller might had no other choice but to accept the offer. Same thing applies to my car how desperate I am or if I have the right buyer in front of me.

My point is that, if it sells for low at the manheim or ebay, it either has issues or desperate seller.. silversrt said it well.

Economy is bad, lots of desperate sellers out there unfortunetely, it is possible to see here and there lower-than-usual sales, but they shouldn't be taken as examples how much these cars worth. I am hoping the market will at least get little better by summer.

eLus.. good points and thanks for the info. I wish I never posted a price, looks like my asking price caused all this lol so for the new updated price, please PM me

amazing looking car, gl with the sale. maybe we should set up a seperate 'price policing' thread where buyers and sellers could whine at each other about how they are way too high and low respectively...might keep the actual for sale threads much more on point and actually help get cars sold!!

i'm one of those guys who thinks most asking prices are too high but i generally keep my mouth shut as i don't think the fs thread is the place to talk about it....just my view of things.

That is a fantastic price for that car. Pearl orange is hands down the best color for a Gallardo...I am biased, of course... Best of luck on the sale!
