Testing water: 2001 Ferrari 360 modena possibly FS

just sticking my toe in the water.... ive picked up another cup car and so alongside my gt3 (which is about to trade against a .2 gt3) im not sure how much time my ferrari is going to see.
love it to bits but i hate to keep a car and not use it. it was my weekend driver and my weekends are about to get full once im finished my current project with work. my heart doesnt want this to go but my head is telling me it should be considered.

2001 360 modena F1. nurburgring silver with black leather. 2nd owner. US car

manual seats, yellow tach.
factory challenge grills front and rear
full factory carbon engine bay

brand new full set of bridgestones
full 30k belt service done in feb 2009 and done properly. engine out, seals, belts etc etc.

its just about to go into local ferrari dealer to have them once over the car. anything picked up on will be corrected.

its an 01, so probably changing belts, seats, etc was a good idea based on time alone, not miles.

Good luck with sale, post some pics for eye candy!

belts are supposed to be done every 3 years.

Why do you say the engine was taken out for the service? Ferrari doesn't require it, and you can access all serviceable areas with the engine in the car.

Good luck with the sale. seems like a fair price.

service is due once a year OR every 10,000 miles. the big belt change service is due every 3 years or 30,000 miles (actually its "in the third year" which means any time before 4th year.....) hence the reason its referred to as this regardless of when its done.

technically since this is its second change it was the 60,000 mile service even though the car isnt even at a quarter of that.

reason i mention engine out is that changing belts can indeed be done insitu, doing the rest of the work required by the service and doing it properly requires the engine to be dropped. this is how the challenge cars are done and this is how main dealers do the big service.
this service isnt cheap at a dealer and many go independent saving cost but missing some of the other work thats also done. you pick your poison but id rather mine was done to the detail.

thanks for the wishes. im thankfully under no need to sell, i just cant stand cars sitting getting dusty. im not a collector, i just love driving so i try to prevent the latter turning into the former by moving on anything that i think is going to lack useage hence the post to test what response was.

its a fantastic car thats for sure. theres lots cheaper just now but they wont be the same car in anything more than badge. many people dont realise just how much range there can be from example to example. for those who just want a ferrari badge then the cheap ones get them this, for those who want what the car is then they need to spend much more.
we will see what comes about though.

Wow...pricing on these things is all over the place. One could do a multi-factorial regression analysis on year, mileage, color, etc., and find out where the correlations lie, but even without that exercise, there does not seem to be a strong correlation -- again, meaning prices are everywhere with no real rhyme or reason.

What does seem clear to me is that the OP's price seems excellent, and the car seems excellent. I wish this were April (that's when I'm in the market for a 360).

My only complaint is no pics...

GLWS...beautiful car.

unless you have truely done your research and looked at a lot of cars, I can see why someone would think the prices are all over the place. I went through that when I was looking at mine. In the spring, any car under $90k either was missing records, was misrepresented, had bad paint work, needed service, was ragged in some manner, or was a euro car. These are the cars on ebay.

Well taken care of cars go for a premium. I ended up with a yellow on black F1 with shields, grills, carbon sport seats, Tubi, and a set of HREs with all records, books, etc. And I paid what ebay would have considered "above market".

AlgaeHater - didn't you used to have a silver euro car? I think I wanted to look at it right after your long sales process. you looking for another one?
