Matt,
Great looking car! Those Aero front lips really make the 996 look better imo. Nice youtube vid. That is the way most guys should advertise their cars. Are those front lips hard to find if you trash one?

Not sure it's the only one I ever bought. They are probably available on Ebay from time to time. I'd say it would be hard to damage it beyond repair but I could see having it resprayed at some point due to minor rock chips, etc...

And I totally agree. It changes the entire attitude of the car.

Matt

Will probably take the car in for 60k service this week.

Thanks,
Matt

I know it's probably better for you in $$, but that car looked soooo much better with those IForged Wheels.

I'm willing to sell with either set for the right price. I swapped them in the event I trade the car to a dealership in the next few weeks, they won't give me a dime for the iforged.

How much did they give you for the trade? I bet someone would have snatched it pretty quickly for trade money. Anyway, congrats on completing the deal. What did you get?

I bought a 2011 RS/SS camaro to match my 69. Pretty impressed so far and as a commuter with warranty it will be comfortable and I can stop being so paranoid about IMS, etc... Dealership gave me $30k (which is like $31.2k if you factor in the 60k service) for the C4S and GMS pricing less $1000 on their car. Pretty good deal on a loaded camaro. I just wish these iForged wheels would fit it.

Wheels going to ebay soon!!!

Intermediate Shaft Bearing. There's a myth that every 996 is going to have an IMS failure and catastrophic engine failure immediately following. Engine failure does follow almost immediately, but the IMS failure is a relatively low percentage of cars.

There is an IMS upgrade by LN Engineering that can be done relatively economically if you're in for a clutch change anyway. Because I'm paranoid, I had that done last fall
