History
A rare opportunity to own one of the greatest drivers cars of all time. The 1991 911 turbo instills the best of the old classic 911 charm with modern conveniences. Power steering, abs brakes, better turbo, 5 speed transmission, and a much improved heater and ac system made this a usable everyday performance car over the previous years turbo. With the 964/965 series the 911 was also upgraded to a much stiffer chassis than the old 930. Gone are the torsion bar suspension and antiquated 4 speed transmission. This car is much more stable above the 100 century mark. The proven 3.3 litre turbo remains offering spirited performance and solid reliablilty.
About this 911
A two owner car with a clean carfax. The previous owner was a physician who travelled between California and Arizona. The good doctor was meticulous in caring for the car and it shows. The interior and paint are , for a twenty year old car, excellent. There are some small scratches and chips here and there but they in no way detract from the overall appearance. The paint still has a deep glossy shine. There is no evidence of any body work or repainting. The hood shows no evidence of any abuse due to " heavy hands ". The windshield is free of any chips or blemishes. The interior is very clean and smells like a new Porsche. The leather is free of any tears. It has never been smoked in. All the door panels are stock and have not been cut up to install oversize speakers. The stereo is a high end cd unit with a great sound. The heater works correctly and the ac blows cold. The only real interior flaw is some delamination on the far left gauge and the drivers visor is loose from the clip. The sunroof works well as do all the other power options such as windows, locks, and seats
The mechanicals are in excellent condition. Included are all the owners manuals and the Porsche service booklet. It has had all the stamps up to about 56,000 miles. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car does not smoke blue. The brakes are simply incredible and stop the car without any pulsations. The steering is free of slop and steers with a sense of precision and feel not found in many of todays cars. The doctor upgraded the exhaust to a stainless GHL unit and the suspension has H&R springs on adjustable collars. The stock parts are all accounted for and are included with the car. It runs the stock boost level at .7 bar. The stock wheels are finished in black with a polished outer lip with Pirelli P zero tires.
I purchased the car at 68,000 miles in April of 2007. At 73,000 miles the engine was removed and about $5000 worth of work was done by a Porsche specialist. A top end reseal was performed as well as a full tune up. All the fluids, belts, and filters were replaced as well as a brand new clutch. Today the car has 74,000 miles.
