1993 Mazda RX-7 #47 red race car with LSx power
Built by Bill Lackey of LPI Racing and Phil Munoz as lead fabricator.
2010 SCCA ITE West Coast winner (with a tired 383ci LSx engine and weighing approx 50lbs more)
The current 438ci engine suffered loss of oil pressure on 5/27/2012 at Laguna Seca due to a belt walking off the dry sump pump. Currently being torn down/rebuilt.
It is therefore offered in 3 configs:
#1 roller (no engine/transmission) $25K
#2 LS2 6.0liter 364ci engine making 430rwhp/420rwtq $35K (dry sump of course)
#3 LS7 7.2liter 438ci engine making 530rwhp/510rwtq $40K (dry sump of course)
For additional funds the engine can make as much as 600rwhp/550rwtq+ with fully ported LS7 heads/FAST102 intake, long tube headers, new cam, retune.
$100K in the original build invested
The car is setup for an LS style engine and any of the engines below are plug/play.
2 engine choices that I have:
#1 364ci (6.0 liter) LS2 (5.3 heads with larger lighter s/s valves, dual springs, LS6 intake/ported TB). Refreshed shortblock with new rings, rod bearings/ARP rod bolts. With LS3 heads/LS3 intake add $1K which will make 460rwhp-480rwhp/430rwtq approx
Based on a 46K mile stock 2006 LS2 shortblock. ARP head bolts, GM MLS head gaskets, LS2 tchain. Cam TBD (your choice)
#2 438ci (7.2 liter) LS7 with LS3 heads 530rwhp/510rwtq. For additional funds LS7 heads in various porting configs are available.

With a new lightweight exhaust I feel another 20+lbs can be shed. The wheels are also 1 piece cast which are very durable; however have an approx 4lb weight gain each due to that.
With the old 383ci LS engine the car achieved the following lap times with Bill driving:
1:33.6 Laguna Seca
1:44 Infineon
1:54 Thunderhill
It recently ran a 1:33 flat at Laguna Seca with Bill Lackey driving at about 80%. He feels it has a 1:29 in it if pushed hard. My first time ever at Laguna Seca I ran a 1:35.5. The car is very easy to drive. It is an absolute animal and with further sorting can be a very very fast track day or campaigned race car. This is not a street car.
You want to lay the smack down on Porsche Cup Cars and just about anything on the track? Viper ACR's and full blown Corvette race cars.... Here you go. Engine rebuilds are 1/4 the price of anything Porsche including transmission rebuilds. Can also convert it back to a T56 setup for additional funds. Might even be faster than the 4spd dog box setup. This is a well sorted race car and one of the cleanest around.
I'm selling this to focus on finishing my other gray "street" FD RX-7 with a dry sump LS7 (575rwhp) setup and free up some funds. Can't justify 2 toys.
I can deliver as well for additional $.
