2001 Porsche 996 TT, Arctic Silver, 45K mi, GT2 Conv, UMW, Motons (>$35k in mods)

Year: 2001
Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Price: $53500
Mileage: 45000
Color: Arctic Silver
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

The time has come for me to part ways with my beloved 996TT as I’ve been getting more into track days and the opportunity to pick up a 996 GT3 that was just as well sorted as my 996TT was too hard to pass up. I am the second owner and bought it about 3 years ago from the original owner, who was a past president of the Orange County PCA and took absolutely meticulous care of the car. It was great to purchase a car from someone just as “****” (for lack of a better word) as me and I continued where he left off so the car remains in immaculate condition. I have a 3” three-ring binder which documents the entire history of the car and has practically every receipt from everything that was ever done to it, from general service to mods. Speaking of mods, I have receipts for over $35K in parts alone (ie not including any labor). This car was originally setup by GMG down in LA and is dialed-in with all the right mods to be a great daily driver and track weapon on the weekends. It needs absolutely nothing right now other than to be driven. I has never been in an accident or had any paintwork (aside from GT2 bodywork) and the title is in hand and clean. Alright, time to get on to all of the nitty gritty details.

2001 Arctic Silver 996TT with approximately 45K miles

Interior
  • Black leather (full)
  • Factory carbon fiber (center console, shifter, e-brake, stereo trim, dash inserts, and gauge surround) with silver trim (around gauges, door pulls, on shift ****, etc.)
  • White gauges
  • Full aftermarket stereo system with Alpine headunit (iPod connection and Bluetooth – cell and streaming music – already wired, ready for Sirius / XM), front and rear speakers (can’t remember brand), amp and a removable sub from FVD in the passenger footwell
  • 997 short shifter kit
  • Rottec carbon fiber GT3 seats in leather with silver cross-stitched alcantara cushions
  • Black Sabelt 6-point harnesses
  • Color matched Cantrell Motorsports rollbar (ties into rear upper strut mounts)
  • One key
  • Owner’s manual
Exterior
  • OEM Porsche GT2 front end conversion with proper ducting, fender liners, etc (ie it was done right)
  • Misha GT2 rear decklid with adjustable blade
  • 18” Fikse FM5 (on passenger side) and Fikse FM10 (on driver side) – 18x9.5 and 18x12
  • Tinted rear tail lights (one is cracked and a stock untinted set is included with car)
Engine
  • Ultimate Motorwerks “GT1” turbos (K16/K24 hybrids)
  • Ultimate Motorwerks tune & uploader with multiple files
  • Ultimate Motorwerks wastegates
  • Bailey billet diverter valves
  • 5 bar FPR
  • Extrude honed and ceramic coated headers
  • Extrude honed and polished intake
  • OEM Porsche GT2 intercoolers
  • SAMCO boost hoses
  • Europipe 'Quite' exhaust
Suspension
  • Moton Club Sports w/ Eibach springs (don’t recall spring rates but have them written down)
  • GMG dogbones
  • GMG thrust arm bushings
  • TRG drop links
  • Techart sway bars
  • Techart front strut brace
  • Monoball rear strut mounts
Brakes
  • Brembo 2-piece front rotors with new pads
  • GT3 brake ducts (don’t think it has Cup ducts from what I can remember)
  • Stainless steel brake lines
  • ATE Super Blue or Gold (don’t remember which I bled with last) brake fluid
Other
  • All new Motul fluids (engine, gearbox, front differential), spark plugs, and 997 coil packs in last 3000 miles
  • Rolled fenders
Blemishes
  • The Rottec seats where slightly damaged during shipping so there is a very small (1/8”) rip in the leather on the lower bolster on both driver and passenger seats. It is hardly noticeable; however, the car will come with a brand new set of black leather seat covers.
  • The leather on the center of the dash near the windshield has started to pull up slightly. I purchased the car like this but again it is hardly noticeable and the car will come with a new (well used but in new condition) leather (yes, the real leather) dash.
  • The windshield has a 5” crack in it that just happened. The windshield will be replaced for the buyer.
I am sure there are some other parts that I’m forgetting about in the above but that should be a pretty comprehensive list.

As for price, I'm asking $53.5K with the Fikse wheels or $52K with stock silver Turbo Twists and 15mm Techart spacers all around.

Please let me know if you have any questions, would like additional pics, or would like to come and see the car in-person and take it for a test drive. The car is located in San Francisco, CA. I am happy to bring it to any shop within a reasonable distance for a PPI at the buyer’s expense.

At first I thought the price was a touch high.....but then I saw the suspension (Moton, etc and installed by GMG no less) work and someone is going to get a well sorted car.

Thanks! It is a very, very well sorted car and I'm sad to see her go. If I could keep it and the GT3 I would do so in a heartbeat. I'll always have a love for the 996 GT2 bodywork.

damn this is almost a replica of my car but with a little more stuff, same suspension, engine mods, etc

very nice car for the track, great suspension setup and just enough power to stay reliable.

love the GT2 front end.

I'll see if I can convince my wife to let me up my budget a bit... This is pretty much exactly what I want.

There is a red GT2 for sale at 77k that would make a great track car. You could have the best of both worlds, and a lot more hp.

My old GT2 is for sale but the turbos are way to big for a road course car.

Nice car! Good luck with the sale!

Just cause I'm curious, what was your thought process with going with the Fikse FM5s on one side and the FM10s on the other?

Was it because they both look great and you couldn't pick just one?

Very nice! I'm interested.

How much track time does it have?

Have you had it dyno'd? Do you have the results available?

When were the brakes done?

How much tread on the tires?

What's the general condition in terms of nicks, chips, wheel rash, etc.?

Tell me about the clutch? Replaced? Age?

Thanks!

Yep that is pretty much it! I have wanted to run different wheels or colors on each side of a car for a while now so when this set came up for sale I figured now is the time to give it a try. Especially since I was waffling on whether to go with the FM10s or the FM5s since I do love them both. Also, you only ever see one side of the car at a time, right? If funny because people will walk around the car and check it out and then scratch their heads trying to figure out why it looks a little different from side to side. Then they do another walk around and finally realize it's the wheels. Have actually received quite a few compliments on it.
