911 Carrera 2, selling for $35,000
SubscribeAbout time to sell my car. 1999 911 Carrera 2, Black on Black. I'm looking to buy something more practical like a s4, m5 or m3. I'm in NYC and I only use the car to go out of the city, 90% highway driving. No pets, smokers or food ever allowed on board, always clean and waxed (zaino, klasse, p21s).
It is a 6 speed, power memory seats on both sides, power windows, power sunroof, trip computer, 18" turbo twist wheels, new front tires, rear tires still have at 70% tread. The car is well maintained. I just went to do a minor service last week at Manhattan Motors (official NYC Porsche dealership). I also did a major service 7k miles ago at Performance Motor Sport in NY (extremely reputable NY independent Porsche service center, with owner who worked at Porsche Germany and also past Porsche Club of America President). Everything has been checked out so no worries prior to sale. A Porsche Presale Inspection (PPI) can be arranged at buyer's cost with Manhattan Motorcars.
I don't want to go through all the negotiation process, so nothing outrageous, I will be looking for the straight up market value. Under edmunds TMV value, clean condition and at 59k miles, it comes out to be around $35k. It’s the stated market fair value, so please no low ball.
FYI - For those that want more power on the c2 (if 0-60 in 5 seconds is not enough), you guys should know there is a supercharger kit now available. You can have TT acceleration but with RWD thrill. This car may be one you want to buy and mod - it's cheap and with around 10k more you have a turbo performance.

Man, if I only had 35g laying around.....
That's the Edmunds True Market Value. I said no low ballers. If you are close to the TMV value shoot me a PM. I keep my car clean and maintained, so I expect a fair value. Thanks for asking.

Good luck on the sale of your car, it looks like a nice example. Edmunds data is truly unreliable. I would estimate wholesale on your car to be $25k ($26.8k @ 48K miles, add $750 for 18" wheels, deduct $3k for high miles). That is obviously a rock bottom wholesale price and you should expect to receive alot more in a private sale, but I suspect to clear it you may need to go a tiny bit lower than $35k. In any event good luck with the sale, it would be a great car for DEs etc.Originally posted by dac911

Thanks for your comments. Porsches are known to log up miles. The car is solid, I driven newer models and I feel its the same. 59k is nothing when the car can do 200k. I'm not sure about your wholesale dealer price, but this is a private sale, and like you said, a private sale should go a tiny bit lower than $35k. I am accepting offers, so send me a PM if you are close. BTW, I never driven in a track or DE event with the car... really wanted to but the classes were always full before I had time to register!Originally posted by sawmilldriver
