Selling my Blue with White Racing Stripes 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. This is an all original paint in excellent condition, authentic Hennessey Venom 500 with additional power adders like a Roe Supercharger. Power level is almost 700HP and well over 725TQ at the motor. Interior & exterior are in EXCELLENT condition. This is my 3rd Viper, it is well cared for and stored in garage on trickle charger and under factory car cover. It is only rarely driven on nice days. I know this car. The owner is a Viper fanatic! He has Viper everything. He only drives the car on sunny days, otherwise he keeps it under a factory car cover. I'll be shocked, if the car ever seen a drop of rain. That being said, I rode in the car last month.....when I tell you the car is a monster, believe me, it's a monster. If you are a person who like rare and unique cars, then this the car for you. I just wish I had the $50k laying around to buy it.

 

How does one value a car like this???

 

Great question Darth. This is my 3rd Viper and my 2nd B&W 97 supercharged GTS. You cannot go by books, but by market only. If you look at one used car site for example, there are 4 B&W 96-97 GTS's for sale. You cannot use red cars as a comp as they generally are valued $5-10k below the B&W. One is a twin turbo at $75k. Taking that one out, the average of the other 3 cars (not including mine) is $52k. Mine also has $25-30k in mods. It is also a documented and serial numbered Hennessey Venom 500. Take into effect that the car is extremely clean and all original paint without even a touch up, is how I derived my price.

so is it a Roe Viper or what makes it a hennessey? u hear so many bad things about that guy i've always wondered..

 

The Hennessey Venom 500 package was installed new from the original dealer Herb Chambers Dodge in 1997 when the car was purchased. There have been many bad things done by Hennessey to customers over the years, much of the time it was done to far away customers who could not see the lack of progress being done to the car. The package from the dealer was just short of $12k option. The supercharger was added years later in 2007 by a well know Viper tuner called Chuck "The Wizard" Tator who owned Tator's Dodge. That was done at a little over 22,000 miles on the car. I upgraded the fuel system, added water/meth to make it safer, and got it tuned by the developer of the supercharger Sean Roe.


Car is a BEAST and ready to run!! She puts down almost 600 RWTQ at 3000 RPM's all the way to redline.

 

ok that makes sense now. i've met chuck when he was here for NVE a couple of weeks back. my neighbor has a black gts with the roe supercharger and meth. fun car.
