A good business man should stand behind his business and his products. Your in business hopefully for the long haul not a few quick deals.
I have bought some cars sight unseen and vowed to never do it again, unless they are from super reputable dealers and all the right questions were asked. It's bit me in the *** before but nothing on this level though. But you live you learn. Hope you work out your issue and get it resolved. It's the worst when you have to involve lawyers but sometimes you have no choice.

Sorry to hear about this disaster. Can you disclose what the problem with the car is? I'm just curious after reading this thread. I have zero knowledge of anyone or anything, just legitimately curious.
I have no dog in this fight - but is there any chance the shipping company guys ragged this car out? Maybe they got a hi-po Vette, decided to have some fun, ran through the gas and the oil, and that's why it is so filthy and has a mystery issue?
I hope you get it sorted - this is exactly why if I can't see it and drive it myself before buying, it's a no-go.

When you step on it for 3 to 4 seconds it go's into a power down mode which will only idle until you reset the computer. Howard from Redline Motorsports in fl has it now & is changing out the blower & retuning it. He feels it's boost & torque related? Factory updates were done on it to.

Brand new 2016 1LZ were going for around $67,000. Dealers were and still are doing 15-20% off new 2016's. They build too many and they sat on the lot a long time so the 2017's have hit the lots alongside them.
You can find 106k-109k optioned 3LZ Z06 w/ Z07 for around $88-91k new.
If you check deals at dealers such as macmulkin, they even had 2017 Z06's 13% off a week ago.
LOL first post on this forum and you're here to defend a vendor that a long time member is giving a review on? gtfo

Vinny I don't know you and I am stating facts as a 3rd person here considering I have bought many high end cars from Bernie Katz in the past with ZERO issues.
For the record I have no investment in BJ motors or Viper Exchange. Just giving my .02 to this story.
Bernie has always gave me fair trade on my trade ins, and has always been honest and up front with every car deal I have done with him. He actually tried to talk me out of buying an Aerial Atom by letting me know that it will be extremely hard to register it in Texas.
I know for a FACT that he does not release any car that is dirty or "in need of an oil change".
Did you opt for a open car trailer or was it delivered in an enclosed?
To my point, he actually hired a young man, put him through detail school in California and now gave him an opportunity to work with him full time. Literally, this is all this kid does is detail cars prior to shipment and identify any defects from torn leather to scratches on the outside of the vehicle that is in question.
Let’s move forward with your issue in particular.
It’s funny you purchased this car, I was actually looking at the same car that you are having issues with.
I have always been a vette guy and when it came the car looked spotless.
Car in question for those wondering:
http://www.bjmotors.biz/vehicle-deta...tx-id-14960291
I drove the car and right of the bat you could tell it has been modified. There was no check engine light on and it actually felt and rode perfect. I opted out of buying and keeping my ZR1, the 20 ACR's he has in stock were calling my name and I wasn’t keen on the automatic.
Anyway,
My question is this. You bought a 800whp car from a dealership.
Now you are complaining that a 800whp modified car is not acting right after more than likely driving the **** out of it and made up some bull**** that the moment you got in it went in to limp mode?
Get real man. That is equivalent to hooking up with a prostitute and being surprised you got an STD 3 weeks later and wanting your 20 dollars back.
You clearly have a record of having some pretty modified cars considering your profile picture and you should know that the moment you modified something you will more than likely experience some issues down the road.
Slamming a dealer for buying a modified car that was running fine after your purchase is pretty pathetic. If you would have posted up stating you bought a brand new viper from Bernie and it blew up and spewed oil all over the road, then there is no question I would understand you being upset and I would 100% support your frustration.
Looking for sympathy and slandering someones business who has been doing this for nearly 20 years (with a pretty all-star record) is pretty ridiculous. Not only that he offered to buy the car back from the sounds of it prior to all this mess?
Get the car fixed quit *****ing about things breaking on a 800whp car after more than likely doing highway bombs and move on.

Car never made it to 150 mph Not once it went into power down mode instead. Doug & Chris from East Coast Supercharging can confirm because they couldn't fix the car & had it for 5 weeks. Bernie then told me he will not take the car back nor would he work with me on fixing it any further. Real stand up guy👍
So...
Car is not "running" right. But you decide its OK to do highway bombs for what, to clear the codes? Why not just let Bernie pick the car back up with nearly no added miles and have him sort the problem out instead of driving the **** out of if then complain there is an issue after the fact?
When the car arrived on September 22nd, 2016 the Z06 Corvette came to me with no gas, dirty, and in need of an oil change. I cleaned the car, did the necessary maintenance and the first time I used the car it went into an engine power down mode and I was unable to drive it.

I actually have quite a few friends on viperalley.com where I saw your post and could say the same thing, starting accounts to slam Bernie is real mature?
Correct, I am friends with all the people at BJ motors and Viper Exchange, I have done quite a few business deals with Bernie and I can tell you from my experience all this doesn't add up.
* Why would Bernie sell a bad car to someone knowing reputation is everything in this business?
* He as access to 5 different performance shops here locally in Houston if there were issues prior to selling? If he got the car in bad shape he wouldn't have kept it and he wouldn't have sold it.
* He has over 5 million in inventory why would he waste his time and reputation on moving a car or taking one in that is broken??
* He took in a 2000hp Lamborghini which could potentially have issues, not saying it does, but it could. Clearly you guys had a decent relationship up to this point or I can tell you there is NO WAY he would have taken that type of car in without knowing the person.
To the point in my original post, once something is modified there is always that "what if". If a customer got in your LP570 and did a test drive and f'ed something up, do you think Bernie would call you and ask you to take it back? He knew what he was getting involved in and those are the dice that were rolled. I’ve owned a couple of Lamborghini's. Actually, I had an 2011 Lp570 just like yours. That ironically I bought from Bernie 5 years ago. I know how much these cost to maintain and if a UG issue comes up, those guys cost their weight in gold for the awesome work they do).
You guys have done business together in the past correct? If mistakes were made on either end resolve them without potentially hurting each others future business with customers or dealerships.
I am local, what I can I do to help? Want me to call him today and get involved I will. I don't know you Vinny, but you seem like a guy that knows cars and just wants to be treated fair. I don't disagree with that at all. Bernie isn't on the forums, so I am assuming he has no idea whats going on.
That being said, I don't want Bernie to be thrown under the bus across the internet because of you being emotional about a deal that didn't go as planned or the expectation wasn't there on something that both of you potentially didn't have control over.
The only fact I can give you about the car is I put my hands on it, and it was not in bad shape!
Someone else mentioned that maybe the truck drivers took it out for a spin? Do you have documentation on mileage before leaving and when it arrived? Is it possible they could have dogged the **** out of it heading to NY?
I know Bernie, I am sure he doesn't want to get on here as the owner of his business and get in a pissing match with you in front of everyone. I am not in the car business, but I am assuming its built on relationships. Buy a car, trade in a car for a new one, but another one, trade it in on a new one, etc.
I am sorry you are dealing with this issue. Again I will send you my cell phone if you need help down here let me know.
G
