If you want more info Ferrarichat.com is a good place. My first Italian will be a Diablo 6.0
Trozen,
Not to confuse the issue even more, but, if you are planning on buying a
"keeper"... you could go back a few years and look at a 512bb... a great Ferrari experience with currently depressed prices and one of the best looking modern Ferraris. Should not be that hard to find a good "books and records" car that will get a good PPI report. I'd stay away from the 348's and TR's no matter how tempting the price though.

Ferrari F355 has excellent styling but mechanically the car is a risky. If your not interested in a Gallardo look in Dupont Registry this month since there are a few gorgeous F355 in silver, black and red for around 100K
I know my old '02 coupe, 6spd, ~8k miles went for $145k several months ago.
Find a 355 that's been properly serviced and cared for, it's worth the extra money. I miss my 355, those cars define visceral and engaging, more so than the 360. If you get one, it'll put a stupid *** grin on your face 24/7, at least it did for me. If you buy thru a dealer, look into the warranties FNA offers - chances are you won't use it but may be worth it just for the peace of mind. They have some more comprehensive options than before.

my dad has a 355 spider, 6 speed and the car is like a rock.
beautiful performance, classic italian style.
i would not get an f1 355. stick with a manual.
i have a f1 360, and it is amazing, but on the early year 355's...i don't think you'd be happy with the technology.
