For Sale: 2001 EVO GT640 Modified Porsche 996 Twin Turbo

Due to changes in my job I have decided to sell my turbo Hopefully she will find a good new home

Located in San Mateo CA.

Features:
  • Seal Gray, Black Interior, Tiptronic, 35k miles
  • Navigation System, All Wheel Drive System, Cruise Control, Dual Front Air Bags, Front Side Air Bags, ABS (4-wheel), Traction Control, Leather, Dual Power Seats with Seat Memory
Modifications (approximately $20,000):

EVO GT640 Tuning Package (640 HP/620 TQ at engine 584 HP/536 TQ at Wheel)

(Additions)
Modifications were done about one year ago with the car around 20,000 miles, previously it was stock. Work was performed by Alex “Sharky” Ross and James Hendry at Shark Werks: http://www.sharkwerks.com. The car has extended warranty until the end of 2006. I have done warranty work (Tiptronic control unit upgrade) at Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City and they are very open to dealing with and honoring warranty work for modified cars. No accidents, clean history, and always garaged.

Hmmm. Might be interested. Could you describe any flaws that this car might have?

I think three wheels have some curb rashes on them, the cassette player in the nav unit is not working right and the passenger side seat back release lever has some scratches on it. Plus some dings on the paint from day to day use. Other than that nothing serious.

I'm not too familiar with the tiptronic tranny (he only downside to me, but I bet the power would more that make up for it), but can it hold the power okay?

I haven't had any issues with the tiptronic tranny after the modifications. I did change the tip control unit under warranty a while back but that was due to a factory service bulletin on the '01 turbo's tip control unit learning bad shifting behavior due to getting stuck in heavy traffic frequently. So that's one potential issue already out of the way

Hi Alex, long time no talk! Big thanks to you and James for doing such a great job on my car. I'll definitely go back to you guys again when I am back in the Porsche market
